@FirstEV: .".which in forum language is now a @Petzi car! *haha* ". I did not realize that my position is that exotic. And with two Macans, no less. Just to be clear: my cars also have the odd problem. I've had white and yellow error messages 3-4 times myself.

A few days ago, my daughters 4s displayed a message saying that Innodrive was not available because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. I left for errands and when I came back Innodrive has been back on. In my opinion, these problems are acceptable for such a complex system.

Neither my iPhone, nor my office network, nor Windows are free of bugs. In these cases, we are talking about software that has been in use millions of times for years or decades, and yet errors occur that are actually inexplicable. You restart the PC and in 99% of cases the problem is solved and never reappears.

I believe that operating these systems, just like a vehicle such as the Macan, requires a certain amount of technical understanding and a certain amount of composure.

The attitude that is often expressed here – "I paid soooo much and now I'm supposed to read the operating instructions? ...and not everything works perfectly? – is not OK. The Macan is a mid-range car and, like all the Porsches I have driven so far, offers a lot for a reasonable price.

But there is another point that I think is very important: I believe that Porsche was very, very cautious with its system. Even the slightest anomaly triggers a warning. Systems such as Innodrive are locked if sensors report errors within obviously very narrow tolerance ranges. That may be annoying. But I prefer that to the irresponsible policy of other car manufacturers, who accept serious accidents and fatalities just to give the false impression that these systems work flawlessly.

I am fairly certain that this applies to many other functions that are being demanded here. Porsche is taking its time with the digital car key because it cannot be 100% trusted, not to annoy us. Etc.

Do you notice any changes to how the air suspension works and reacts? I feel the difference but I’ve had an alignment and some adjustments done with the update.

As for the errors I can confirm, so far none where previously I’ve had tons. Going on longer roadtrip to Vienna on monday so I’ll confirm for sure.
Nothing at all, to be honest. I’ve noticed that the air suspension does the elevation stages faster than before, but nothing out of the ordinary. I will try focusing on the suspension at lower speeds again now when I am driving a bit longer today. Is there any particular speed or height that you think of or just in general?

I will get back with feedback on it asap.

Petzi, I would agree but keep in mind some of these problems were serious and were affecting safety. E-sound errors or disabled innodrive is a niuasanse. Doors opening mid-drive, cars turning off on highway, high-voltage system errors forcing turtle mode, assistance systems forcing full-stop without a reason - this should not be acceptable regardless of how much you pay for the car.

It seems this update resolves these issues which is great.

Hey now, Petzi is not the only one with an error-free car! Not mythical, but I guess if you’re the most vocal you get it named after you :)

I’m glad the update is good and resolving some issues that people have had.

I second @sor, my car is error-free as well. To the point that I may wait a while or until my scheduled service to get the update. Maybe there will be more than one update by then…
And, I’m sure there are plenty of other cars without any significant issues whose owners don’t participate nor are members of this forum.
I’m really happy with my car, enjoy driving it, and still try to find excuses to take it for a spin! :)

Adding my data point in -- my car is error free too. Having said that, I'm booked for the update this Thursday.

I have a slot scheduled for service on 19 Nov, but I may push it off again (already rescheduled once), until we hear more about the software update availability and scope here in the USA. Going to call the dealership this week to inquire about it and see what other recall campaigns are listed (if any) for my car.

I would like to know if the power-charge-port-doors no longer open in an automated car wash - that would be a good bug fix in my opinion…

By all Porsche standards, this is not a bug, this is a (lack of) feature...
Sorry, it's sarcasm, I know that.

this is easily avoided by keeping the car in drive...or the doors locked. None of the exterior comfort access stuff should work...

has this happened to you?
were you in a car wash where the car is still, or pulled on a conveyer?

it has happened to me - I now leave the car in drive - when it did happen to me the doors WERE locked - and both sides opened at once (something that shouldn't happen)

the "keep it in drive" work around is what I use - but I'd still like it fixed.

So I also got my updates (several control unit updates) last week, no errors so far for a week now. It was never this good since delivery.

Is something different with the air suspension? In low height and normal dampers it feels significantly smoother then before. I like it a lot.

one of the major goals of any software update is it should "suck less"…so far based on early reviews this update seems to be achieving that specific and well understood software industry standard!

Interesting… that has been my fear! I sit in the vehicle through the wash on a conveyor type, put it in neutral and press lock. Fortunately I have not had the power doors or frunk open.
