Ah right, I don't suppose you have a high quality version available? When downloading from these forums I find images have massive picture quality loss.
In NZ it's all standard equipment (along with lots of other things on the Turbo), so I don't have much choice. I happen to like it anyway, so not a biggie.
Thanks so much for your write up, really very helpful. I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t like the exterior or interior Turbonite finish, it‘s nice on the Porsche badge, but that is all. I have deleted it from my Turbo spec. Note it’s also the default colour on the Sport chrono clock too.
I have waited for the FL Taycan, and fortunately the Macan EV was revealed just a few weeks earlier. I've decided to go Macan Turbo for a couple of reasons, none of them involve price. Overall it's a more practical vehicle for every day use, it feels more up-to-date, the PCM is new the version...
My current plan is to go:
Macan Turbo
Ice Grey Metallic
22" RS Spider wheels (gloss black/silver)
Side window trims - black gloss
Side blades - black gloss
Design lower trim - black gloss
Air blades - black gloss
Rear Macan Turbo logo - black gloss
Electric logo - not standard in NZ fortunately...
Interesting the wheel arch trims are still black gloss. It’s all personal, but to me there are just too many finishes going on. But yes, on the green it makes sense. I don’t think Turbonite will look great on lighter or more contrasty colours.
Yeah, it’s a great match for the green. I think on Ice Grey that gloss black looks better, that is how Porsche presented the car too so perhaps they think the same thing?
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the Turbinate colour and finish, I don't mind it on the Porsche logo, but that is about it. I noticed on the Macan Turbo reveal they spec'ed it with gloss black exterior side blades.
Yep, any car groomer will tell you to avoid RaceTex or Alcantara on steering wheels. I have it on my RS3 and I am super OCD, even then it looks a bit worn.
Haha thanks, your ant to try configuring a Taycan and see what that comes out to in NZD. We have a BMW iX M60 also, so pretty familiar with the range penalty on wheel types and other options, ti will be all good for where I want to go. Charging infrastructure is pretty solid here so not really a...
I have ordered already, but I'm off to Europe in late June via Singapore, hoping I can see it at the new Porsche Studio in Singapore or at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. I will take some pics 😊
