I watched this video earlier today. They were not overly positive I must say. Though the biggest rants were that they didn’t have a rear wiper and there wasn’t a 360 camera. Admittedly, these are options, not base, but they are easily solved by clicking a few more boxes before placing the order. A few reviewers also said it wasn’t as fast as they would like, but they chose to have the second from the bottom tier vehicle. If they’d like to compare the Macan Turbo which I know cost more money, but it is a Porsche. Then I think that reviewer would’ve been satisfied with the performance. I was disappointed that they never once mentioned that there were higher performance models available when speaking about this deficiency. They did mention a few serious quality issues being the once occurring charge port door, not opening, which they gave a great tip on how the dealer fixed also some recurring driver assistance limitations due to software problems. Living with a Taycan for six years, made that one seem unsurprising. :CWL:
In no way did their feedback dissuade my confidence in my order of a 2026 Macan 4 EV. I had spec the surround camera cameras in fact, 3-D and a rear wiper. Along with 23 other options. :giggle:

We too had repeat power charge port door re-opening issues. Also had repeat issues with the proximity door openers working the first time, and in reverse the car auto-locking when we went walked away. However with the massive charge port update done six weeks, it has worked flawlessly since. As to the door auty-locking and unlocking, through it is only two weeks since that separate software update was completed, it has worked perfectly every first-time since.

We enthusiastically remain moving forward with our plan to order a 2027 Macan GTS to replace our current turbo (when the latter’s lease ends). The driving fun on our Macan EV by far more than triumphs the inconveniences of some software issues we have had on our very early made 2024.

I also find this Edmunds review oddly negative. Didn’t they have it ranked as the number two or three lux EV SUV just a year ago. And now they’re obsessed with the $200 rear windshield wiper and 360 camera?? Didn’t the order the car? Check a couple boxes.

My Macan is such an incredible vehicle. it drives so well, is super comfortable on long trips, I love the interior quality, has exceptional range, is fast charging. Yes during the rains the assistance systems freaked out a bit, but they resolved themselves.

One of the things I love is the plug and play charging at electrify America. And a fee year of charging. Plus Tesla supercharger access now. Plug-in play is a charging game changer.

Of course it’s more expensive and drives really well. It’s a Porsche. Even so, I got a good discount on the car.

I love the car and recommend it highly.

I could've saved them a year…generally speaking the only thing with Porsche tends to be the price.

the Macan EV is overpriced for what it is - but that true/factual statement ignores a glaring truth…

what are you going to get instead of a Macan EV at any price…

the Model Y and Hyunda Idiotic are cheaper cars but if you really really want to drive either of those vs. the Macan well then we can't be friends…

Porsche is losing the plot on pricing and they are too much money - but comparing to alternatives I honestly can not think of anything I'd swap it for…(NOTE: I've owned MANY tesla's over the years and understand pros/cons deeplly - my son and my brother inlaw own Model Y's - and they are perhaps the best EV SUV on the market and a very very tough act to follow in terms of value and practicality - but as with all products there are trade offs - i wouldn't trade my Macan EV for a Model Y even thought I believe it to be fairly priced well done product).

so you either compromise on the product or pay up the a** for the Porsche…

the Macan is too much money - but I can't think of something else I'd swap it for…

below is the list of alternative Mid-sized EV SUV's that I can consider owning in North America that are reasonable options vs. a Macan EV

[null set]

I look forward to a future when there are actual alternatives (the BMW iX3 is trending as an option but it's unproved and only hype at this particular point in time - let's revisit in a year or so - I'm optimistic)

so we're stuck.

my $0.02 YMMV

As I mentioned to my friend @Fun TC Driving earlier today, the first thing that turned me off about the Edmunds’ review was the narrator beginning the commentary with ā€˜I mean’. I realize it’s a small point, however, it’s pointless meaningless language that we are now hearing every day. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

I do agree that the backseat legroom is pretty minimal; I’m really amazed that the legacy Macan ICE platform has even less legroom. For the most part, though, German cars have never really excelled at rear seat legroom other than 7 series, S class etc.

I continue to be annoyed with the driver’s assistance warnings that come up fairly often; however, to be fair, I’ve never taken my Macan 4 in for any software updates.

It is expensive however, I still really enjoy it and will continue to do so.

Macan having no rear seat leg room is a "water is wet sky is blue" reporting…it's a small'ish SUV where back seat leg room has never been the focus…

at least it's accurate reporting, but anyone surprised by this simply hasn't been paying attentoin and should've purchased an alternative product.

I’m probably one of the few people who actually has grounds to criticize the Macan, considering my car has been in service for almost 80% of my 16 months of ownership.

That said, most of the talking points being thrown around are complete nonsense. I won’t go into details, but it often feels like people are more interested in tearing Porsche down to justify their own choice of buying another car rather than making fair comparisons
