I'm expecting this is just a safety net and the misses will get used to the vehicle, vs our current X1 (similar height, more flat seats) and M5 (lower, more sporty seats) - it's the combination of bolsters on the seat base, depth from seat to edge of car, and height. All together, made the exit...
Thanks for all the info everyone, I have now booked a test drive with the dealer, explaining I need to understand this better. He said what has been mentioned here, tap the chassis/suspension setting, set it low. Will see how practical that is in reality, as it seems like a bit of a faff.
I read the manual, and Smart Lift says you select the level, so I read that as I could set a low level at a specific location, i.e. 'Smart Lift' is a bogus term, it should be 'Smart Level'? Am I reading this incorrectly?
Well, Macan sits quite high, and shorter people have to 'slide' off the seat to touch the ground ☺, so lowering would be nice. An X5 with air suspension can be lowered, it drops ~40mm I think, and it makes a bit of difference.
Are you saying the Macan with air suspension has no manual control...
I am wondering if it is possible to have the suspension lower automatically for entry/exit, to make it easier to get out particularly (without brushing your legs on the side sills).
Thanks, I looked, I haven't compared the specs to my 'desired' spec, but there certainly seems like a bit of choice for new cars coming, especially 7 GTS and 7 Turbo, only 1 4S!
Is it possible to determine the availability date of these, or is that just 'soon' as they are listed?
I recently visited a dealer to view a Macan electric with my wife, and she found the 14-way seats 'pinched' too tight around the thigh/hip area putting pressure on her back (she suffers with back troubles). We didn't get a chance to test any of the other seats, however, the sales guy suggested...
Ha, yeah good tax benefits for business users, but unfortunately I'm a private buyer (in the UK obviously).... Taycan was quite dreadful, like so many EV's they are apparently 'disposable' so value falls off a cliff.
On top of the latest round of political announcements, it drives more and more...
What is the collective wisdom regarding depreciation on Macan, the video suggests a $52k offer for a 1Y old / 13k miles vehicle that cost them $99k, gulp, almost 50% loss in a year! That is crushing in any book.
Quite a short review, but I enjoyed it. Some comments on her video were quite critical about the Macan being "Audi crap", and objections to the price, especially with 'necessary' options added. As a [potential] newbie to the brand (I've ordered BMW's for 30 the past years), I recognise the...
What size wheels do you have?
This is a 'common' problem on BMW X5 and 22" wheels (rear 315/30 R22) according to Kwik-Fit, as, they say, "due to the setup and the tyres being extremely wide". Fundamentally not an alignment issue, but "expected". I've no idea if they were talking total rubbish!
