I just got prompted about this in the My Porsche app. Worth noting my car is a MY2025. Anybody else get this?

Kinda feels like this is as close as we're ever gonna get to an OTA software update from Porsche. šŸ˜ž

(And not even that for the 2025s).

I got it on my 911 via My Porsche notification but doesn't mean it's compatible. So basically, any Porsche owner with My Porsche App installed and logged in will have received this notification whether they have an MY26 Macan or not...awesome!

Received the notification this morning and installed the update (MY 2026 GTS).

First impressions are good with the ability to ask follow up questions.

Congrats @Andy718S. Look forward to future updates.

Gotta say that MY2024 and MY2025 owners should have at least the option to add features like this with a paid model. Yes, it may have some deeper requirements we don't understand on hardware, but other companies do more. We've covered this in other software related threads before, but with a new CEO and an environmentally conscious German company, we shouldn't have to buy a new car for these kinds of software feature updates!

I hope it becomes available for the 2024-2025 models, but I doubt it. Regardless, similar features should become available with the next Siri update. Porsche’s voice pilot will use the data from your connect plan. Siri from your phone’s data. Not at issue if both unlimited.

I would believe this is all server based...really has nothing to do with the car hardware. The car already has as "ai" capabality...this is just an update to that.......that for some reason, they're restricting to certain years, that had the SAME Ai already

Have to admit - notifying MY2024-2025 users that there is an update but for MY2026 only is beyond stupid on so many levels it's even hard to comprehend. Similar to what happened with preferred charging networks - there was a update to the mobile app with info this is new but they failed to mention it will not work with MY2024-2025 cars.

Standard Porsche practice, sell you an obsolete car and constantly remind you you need to buy the next and the next, works on many people including yourself (apologies if you haven't already upgraded to the MY26😁)
Cue MY26 owners receiving updates for hands free driving (available from MY27:CWL:)

Almost makes you regret not buying a Tesla :lipssealed::D

Seems to be the way with most manufacturers - my old Audi had all the hardware for carplay, but the stealers would not for love nor money enable it in software. Fortunately there is an active community of hackers out there so I ended up with carplay without handing over any more cash to Audi .

I'm hoping something similar might happen with the Porsche... will keep an eye out.

edit - did a bit of 'research' with my close personal AI friend:

### Macan EV Software Modification Limitations *Analysis of why MIB2-era tools are obsolete for PPE platforms*

The M.I.B. solution utilized for the Audi C7.5 exploited the Harman MHI2 architecture running QNX. It relied on executing unauthorized shell scripts via the SD card slot to patch the IFS-Root and inject custom FECs (Function Enabling Codes) for CarPlay activation.

There is no equivalent toolset for the Macan EV due to fundamental architectural changes.

### Architecture Shift
The Macan EV utilizes the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) and the E³ 1.2 electronic architecture. The infotainment system (PCM) has transitioned from QNX-based MIB platforms to a customized implementation of Android Automotive OS (AAOS).

### Cybersecurity Protocols (SFD2)
The E³ 1.2 architecture complies with UNECE R155 cybersecurity regulations. It enforces SFD2 (Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose 2), requiring real-time, token-based authentication via the Porsche Partner Network (PPN) for module access. Secure boot protocols and cryptographic signature checks prevent the execution of modified firmware or arbitrary payloads.

### Deployment Mechanism
Updates are strictly managed via OTA (Over-The-Air) deployment or through PIWIS 4 operated with active PPN credentials. There are no exposed offline vectors (such as SD card or USB scripting) for user-driven firmware flashing.

### Mitigation
MY2026 software changes can only be acquired if Porsche pushes the applicable updates via official OTA campaigns. Unauthorized patching is currently structurally impossible on the E³ 1.2 architecture and lacks any community-driven exploit tools.

I didn’t understand most of it but I believe the reason the Macan ICE was withdrawn in Europe was because its cybersecurity wasn’t strong enough whereas the EV’s is a different system and so the cybersecurity is stronger.

Still on sale in UK (and other parts of the world) but last orders (UK) in June.

Cyber security was the rationale due to an EU regulation. Ironic given hackers will more likely target online / always connected devices than not.

UK left EU and so the rule wasn't adopted.

Regulation Details: UN R155 (part of UNECE WP.29) mandates that vehicles must be protected from hacking, data theft, and electronic failures throughout their lifecycle, covering development and production.
The Issue: The first-generation ICE Macan, launched in 2014, relies on older electronic architecture designed before these cybersecurity standards existed.

Cost of Compliance: Upgrading the vehicle's electronic control units (ECUs) and certification processes was deemed too expensive and complex for a vehicle that is nearing the end of its life cycle.

Timeline: The regulation takes effect in the EU on July 1, 2024, causing the cessation of sales for that market.

Regional Differences: The ICE Macan is only being pulled in the EU; it will remain available in other markets, such as the UK and the US, for the time being.
