yes, you've got to be a bit of a tinkerer to tolerate the angst involved.
I'm hoping that Amber will be able to control all of this relatively soon - they've bought a company called ChargeHQ which will control OCPP chargers, and that along with their battery VPP/Smartshift tech and wholesale...
Costs as much/more than an OCPP-compliant charger would (if I was going to abandon my masochistic ways, that's the route I'd take), and it's another proprietary/closed ecosystem device which I am trying to avoid.
Anker (my battery and inverter brand) have a EVSE which is supposed to turn up...
I've spent untold hours and done far too much swearing to get this far. Advice to the uninitiated: Unless you really want/need a mobile charger that can plug into virtually any outlet, don't get a Porsche Mobile Connect. Dealing with a proprietary locked-down device is an endless PITA.
I have a...
It's in the main user manual under roof transport system:

Note that the foot carrier covers are used as locking/unlocking leavers
Mine's been in and out of the dealership since May with these issues. Last visit end of august for replacement of multiple control units. Lost connectivity a few days later again.
They're pinning their hopes on the upcoming major software update.
Had the tech come out to my house this last time...
My dealership (Aus) is expecting the update late Sept/Oct but not specific, likely subject to change, flooding, possums on the road, nooceler holocausts etc.
It will require a visit to the dealership. 800 System wotsit updates. Give or take.
I'm excited to be able to test the beta 2...
Got my car back from the stealership this week after some sort of control unit replacement which is meant to fix my connectivity issues. I'm now getting waze and apple maps on the main cluster, which wasn't the case before. It may be my imagination, but the 360 camera view seems better too...
I've emailed my local and asked the question. If I don't hear back I'll chase it when I collect the car (in for the 3rd time to resolve app/remote connection issues).
I haven't been offered a refund for the option yet, so live in hope that there may be a solution coming.
It was just a...
Thanks for the reminder. I need to chase my dealer.
I optioned this (Aus). Was told that it was not complaint with Au law for some reason, and that the dealership had been told to disable it before handing the car over, pending a fix from the Vaderland.
This was May. Haven't heard anything since.
It looked like it was from the Vaderland but I guess that's easily faked. My delivery was end of May. Can't imagine the dealership benefiting - they'd be only too happy if I need to replace the car as often as the damn iPhone.
It's been back to the stealership several times to sort out the usual...
I'm not sure what the battery temp was, but as it's only a couple of km from work it's likely it wasn't optimal. There is an Evie charger nearby, so I might trying setting that as a charge destination in the app next time, and see if it makes a difference to the Tesla charge rate.
@AndrewH is...
TLDR:
Charging Apps are of the Devil
RFID cards are made by the baby Jesus
Avoid social shaming, embarrassment or stoning by doing your first public charges at quiet/empty charge stations
Different portions of Herr Musk's Tesla app don't talk to each other.
This is an Australian experience...
Took the local Porsche dealer around a month to sort this out on mine and they hinted that they weren't completely confident the issue was completely resolved.
lots of back and forth between the locals and Porsche Germany by the sounds of it.
Next step is to replace the control module...
I doubt it can be retrofitted. and it would be a stack of cash. A range of sensors needed, including a camera and module that sits in front of the r/v mirror. As an idea, the camera module in my old Audi A6 went - the replacement module could only be calibrated by Audi - about 4 hours labour for...
I'd be interested in installation experience - how tricky is the wiring etc; comparison to the fitcam.
Also features/ease of use and quality compared to the fitcam - and is there enough there to induce you away from the invisible install of the fitcam.
Do you have a rear camera with the fitcam...
