Where have you heard the price that Porsche will ask for the adapter?
It’s not been released yet but I bet you it costs $50-$150 more than buying the adapter straight from the company making it (= without a Porsche sticker on it).

We’ll know soon.

i'm 99% certain the Porsche unit is a simple rebranded Lectron Unit - they look identical:

https://ev-lectron.com/products/lec...0a-1-000v-compatible-with-tesla-superchargers

$194.99 shipping today

these "adapters" are passive units - there is no translation of power or protocol - they simply have thermal sensors, electronic lock-outs and are made to be robust in the face of 1000V DC power at 500 amps!!! (500 kW if you're paying attention)…
Where did you see the Porsche unit to compare?

For what it's worth, Tesla destination/wall chargers initially speak a protocol that's different from plain J-1772. When the Tesla wall charger doesn't manage to initiate a charge within 30 seconds or so, it will switch to J-1772 signaling, and this is what lets NACS->J1772 connectors work for destination/AC charging.
Getting way off in the weeds here, but since you mentioned it this is the bit that I faked out on my Tesla v3 wall connector. Most of the AC NACS to j1772 adapters have a circuit in them that on their own will make the wall connector think there’s a car plugged in, and turn the light blue which is a negotiation mode. This is why they say to plug the adapter onto the NACS first, it gives a chance for this timeout to occur and the wall connector is ready to go before you plug into the car. I don’t remember it being as long as 30 seconds. At any rate I had added the same circuit directly into the Tesla wall connector so I could put a j1772 handle and cable on it, so it was always ready to go.

this was bought way before the universal one was available.

Got a call from my dealer (Porsche North Scottsdale) yesterday that on Monday I can call service to order my complementary NACAS adaptor, and that Porsche access will follow in a week. Didn’t post immediately as I figured I would be the 3,621st to do so.
Great news as this increases the number of chargers on any road trip dramatically! EA still has some of the burliest charges out there, but when I had the Other Car, it sure was convenient!
Anyone else here this? Hope I’m not being punked!
This would be great! I know they talked about this when we bought our Macan, but just thought that was a dream…looking forward to seeing an official announcement from Porsche NA

I called the parts department of my dealer in Charlotte, NC, and they said they did not have any info about ordering this yet.

My Canadian SA said that these weren't ready to be ordered yet.
I'm waiting for a response from mine (at Vancouver Porsche, so I expect the same answer!). He's always on holiday though, or more charitably maybe he's always on courses. I'm popping in tomorrow to get the Tesla valued as a trade-in.

Replying to my own message, frightfully bad form.

Porsche Vancouver Parts department cannot order a supercharger adapter, yet. It's not on their computer. But they weren't surprised I was asking.

Well, I have to say sorry to everyone: I was punked by Porsche of North Scottsdale!

After some back and forth, my salesman called to say that the service advisor jumped the gun. Blah, blah, 2026..., meow, meow, software update..., yada yada, working on it.

Didn't really care too much about 2026 models (don't have one, not trading mine in and paying and extra $40K plus Cheeto tax). Bottom line, not happening any time soon, no part even available yet for purchase.

Once again, sorry for being so credulous. The wait goes on for easy road tripping.

I have reached out to my source at Porsche to see if I can place an order, and if so will report part number, cost, etc.
My follow up is similar. My contact at Porsche North America advised that type of part would need to be ordered via the dealer directly. So far I have not heard back from my dealership contact. Assuming vacation or a no comment policy perhaps. Just an assumption though.
