2025 4S, not updated. My Tesla box occasionally exhibits the symptoms you describe and the car fails to charge. It’s easiest for me to just disconnect the car, trip the breaker for the Tesla box, wait a few seconds, power it back on. Always fixed the problem.
its only been a handful of times...
99km north of you, more or less - the rear wiper is close to essential for me. And the standard washer for the rear camera is even more essential! The back of the Macan is the biggest grime-magnet of any car I’ve owned.
The windscreen is probably useful but since I don’t know how foggy the...
Whenever my phone has failed to connect it has been either: I switched off wifi on the phone/went into airplane mode and forgot to reenable comms; or my phone had otherwise decided not to communicate - a phone reboot did the trick.
I’ve found this version of the PCM far more reliable than in my...
Irrelevant anecdata - I had to get the AA (I was in the UK) to break into my VW Golf (2014 MY) in that exact circumstance. Well, almost exact - I didn't intend to leave the key in the car whilst I rode around Dalby Forest for a couple of hours.
Do a controlled experiment at home.
Comparisons with Tesla re: upgrades are fascinating. Yes, my Model 3 got many minor tweaks and UI updates, and even one power upgrade. All gratefully received but of no great impact to my ownership experience.
On the other hand, a feature which I did pay for never actually worked and in reality...
There are literally no bad choices - underneath the "dynamic" options it's a basically well-sorted car. RWS isn't transformational. With regards to the HUD - I've got it, but it's only on when I'm navigating a new town or know that I'm going through a tonne of complex interchanges. Wouldn't spec...
“Twitchy”? The Macan? I’ve never owned a more planted and predictable car. It’s very enjoyable in what passes for twisty roads here in BC. More tellingly perhaps it’s extremely honest on snow. I’m sure the GTS is better, but let’s not get carried away with thinking the rest of the range isn’t...
I’ll swap you with mine. It gets all the way up to “meh” degrees.
More usefully, ask your dealer if you can compare with other cars on the lot and if it’s out of whack get them to take a look at it. I’m sure there’s a potentiometer somewhere (or digital equivalent)in the system that could be...
My July/August built 4S is in for some minor fixes (passenger side charge port not charging, window sensor dead) and I asked about the update - was told it’s not available for my car. Age? Computer doesn’t tell the service manager why it’s unavailable, just that it is.
Compared to our Bronco Sport, the wheel is slower to heat up and doesn’t get anywhere near as toasty, here in somewhat mild Whistler. 0C and snowing today, has been down to -5 and the Porsche has been consistently less effective.
Humour plainly isn’t universal, but I thought the tone and the “/s” sarcasm notifier would do the trick. I was mildly pillorying the recent trend for massively overreacting to tiny things in this forum.
So no, I’m not being serious, although the problem is real.
I'd like to be considered for the prestigious "Smallest Bug" prize: yesterday the app started telling me that it doesn't know whether the rear right window is open. If Porsche can make such a stupid mistake in the app, imagine how bad the safety systems must be /s.
I'll wait until I have time...
My previous reply was too brief - the reality for the Macan is the same as it was in the Tesla: a given charge will result in less driven miles in cold weather.
The theoretical “miles” figure as displayed just after charging is always a guess, for both the Tesla and the Porsche. Tesla lies more...
