    Long term miles per kilowatt

2025 Macan 4S, with 21 Macan Design wheels. I took delivery at the end of last March 2025. Mix of city and highway driving, lots of short road trips (100–250 miles), and one long road trip last summer (Charlotte to central Colorado). 13,645 miles and 3.0 mi/kWh

[ADVICE REQUEST] 2026 Macan EV Build-Out

When I asked my SA last spring if I could add Innodrive later to a MY 2025 Macan EV, he told me no, that Porsche had complaints from second buyers of Taycans, who had been told by the original owners that the car had Innodrive, only to discover that it had been the subscription, not the...

Software updates - why is Porsche so far behind.......?

This delayed update aside, I think the Macan software is the best of the non-Tesla EV software out right now. I traded in a Tesla Model Y after 4 years of ownership for a Macan EV this past spring. I test-drove several other "hatchback" style EVs: Taycan Cross Turismo, BMW iX, and Audi Q6 eTron...

Porsche NACS DC Adapter Instructions (English) - PDF Attached

Even though the instructions say to plug in the car first, and then take the steps to start the charge (that is, use the Tesla app), I have found that it is better to trigger the charge in the Tesla app first, and then plug in. YMMV

    daylight savings fail?

I noticed that my car had changed back to Standard Time (EST) on Sunday afternoon, but I only noticed the time after I was leaving a place I had driven to a couple of hours earlier. I suspect it is somewhat indeterminate when the car's built-in PCM updates its timezone. While driving across the...

What's your estimated range with 100% SoC?

Every EV battery will lose some capacity over time. As far as I know, every manufacturer calculates SOC percentage based on the current capacity. That's what I was referring to in my first point. So, 100% of a new Macan is ~95kWh (100% =95 kWh). Maybe after a year, the battery has lost 5kWh of...

What's your estimated range with 100% SoC?

Electricity is not measured in distance, but kWh, at the scale of an EV. The range shown is just an estimate based on several factors. The main ones are: Amount of electricity in the battery: In a perfect world, the same amount of electricity would result in the same range. But all batteries...

Can you set the car temperature and heated seats from the iPhone app?

As far as I can tell, you can do the following from the phone app: turn each of the four zones of the climate system (driver, passenger, rear left, and rear right) on or off for pre-conditioning the climate. set one single temperature for whichever of those zones are on then send the command to...

Tesla Supercharging appears to be live now (Tesla app screenshot)

I never did see an email from Porsche with a tracking number for my adapter, but I found it on my doorstep Saturday. I went to the Tesla V3 supercharger near downtown Charlotte, NC, on Sunday afternoon, just to test it. The site did appear in the Porsche nav when I filtered to nearby chargers...

    Tesla Supercharger Access

I just received the promised email from Porsche, with a link to a simple form that asked for my contact information, and showed a pre-populated "Passcode" at the top of that form. Look for the subject line "Order your complimentary Porsche NACS DC Adapter today" in your email.

First long trip in 4S - Charlotte to Colorado

(Apology for the long wall of text. I had picked out a few pictures, but the file upload on the forum stopped working for me after I had uploaded the map. if anyone is interested, I will try to upload the pictures in a separate post later on this thread.)

First long trip in 4S - Charlotte to Colorado

I'm late writing this up, but back in July I finally got to take a long road trip in the Macan 4S I picked up in the spring. I had done a few overnight and weekend trips, to Asheville, Raleigh, Savannah, and Jacksonville, but I was itching to really use the car the way it was intended. I had...

    Porsche Charging Planner Adventures

Sorry to hear about these troubles with the in-car charging planner. I've been very lucky so far, after I took delivery of my Macan at the end of March 2025. I haven't done too many long trips with it, mostly within my state or at most a couple of states away. I usually only need a couple of...

    Tesla Supercharger Access

I called the parts department of my dealer in Charlotte, NC, and they said they did not have any info about ordering this yet.

    Tesla Supercharger Access

Overall a great summary of the different flavors of Tesla superchargers. Minor nit: at most, V2 superchargers are only 150kW. Some of the older ones are only 120kW (like the older ones along I-90 in South Dakota).

[FAQ] - EV Chargers - common misconceptions - what is an EVSE?

I bought a used Gen1 Tesla Mobile Connection (max power of 40amps) to leave plugged into my NEMA 14-50 plug in my garage to use as my "home" charger short after I got a Model Y in 2021. This allowed me to leave the Gen2 Mobile Connector (max 32amps) in the car for use in emergencies on the road...

    How to check SoH

Since you cited my post, I'd like to clarify and correct your statement. (I assume you were mis-remembering the number I wrote.) I said I had "less than 10% degradation". For the Tesla, most of that that actually occurred in the first year of driving, and I owned the car for almost 4 years. I...
