My Porsche in Apple CarPlay

Just picked up my Macan 4 MY26. Can see the option to activate My Porsche in Apple CarPlay. In the car it says it’s not compatible. I thought it was. Anyone had this working?

The My Porsche CarPlay app is only supported by the Taycan.

Thanks all, seems pretty conclusive that it’s not supported in the Macan. Odd. Also odd that the “expert” at the dealer didn’t even know of the function.

Probably the most annoying thing about my Macan ownership experience so far are the trips to the dealer where I need to teach their tech expert how to do things that I learned through this forum.

It worked on my Taycan, but not on my Macan EV…. might have something to so with the fact that the Macan runs on an Android OS while the Taycan does not.

Strange because when I connect the Bluetooth and WiFi, Apple CarPlay always show up in my Macan4 EV 2024…. You should definitely have that option….

Yes, CarPlay is supported, but the My Porsche CarPlay app only supports the Taycan, not the Macan EV and probably not the Cayenne EV. If seeing the icon for it in the PCM, you can customize CarPlay on your phone and keep the My Porsche CarPlay app from displaying.

It supports the Cayenne e-hybrid system (which is basically the same software as the Taycan) so I would like to think that it would carry over to the EV-version.

I’m talking about something different … it’s the option to control the car from within CarPlay. Seems not available on Macan. I have CarPlay no issues.

nothing, it is just an alternative interface. The only additional function is that you can root in Apple maps taking account of state of charge and plan stops although it won’t precondition the battery before the stop.

The Cayenne e-hybrid and Cayenne EV are built on completely different car platforms and I am certain that the latter is based on Android Automotive like the Macan EV. It is unlikely that the My Porsche CarPlay app is supported.
