Macan 4 EV Ownership Report: 1 Year, 16,600 Miles (26,560 km)

I agree with the above. I frequently use my sons Rivian and Tesla and find them both have bugs which sometimes can be fixed OTA. Others simply do not go away. And the build quality of both of those cars is not great. Having seen the BYD cars in Europe these past few weeks I would say all the mid...

Macan 4 EV Ownership Report: 1 Year, 16,600 Miles (26,560 km)

I have had similar experiences over the first 9000 miles in 7 months. My only mishap was a front tire which had to be replaced due to sidewall damage. The tire was not in stock at my Porsche dealer and took 2 days to get. I found that surprising. Luckily it wasn’t an inconvenience based on my...

Macan EV 4S will not start. Battery at 70% full

Over my 6 month ownership and 8K miles, I have had something similar happen twice. On both occasions I exited the car, allowed it to lock itself, then walked back to it a minute later, allowed it to unlock itself, and everything was back to normal.

My car went in to my local dealer for a tire replacement yesterday and they told me about this recall Apparently there is a clip on the rear motor that is sized incorrectly and has to be replaced. They have taken care of it while the car was at the dealer.

Does anyone else find the interior ventilation fan, whether on A/C or not, noisy even at the lowest speed setting? Any thoughts would be welcome.

Home charging using departure time setting no longer working

From March to August, this function worked perfectly. I would plug in my Porsche home charger around 8 pm, with a departure time of 7 am, and the car would start charging around midnight to be ready at 7am., with zero charging taking place until midnight Now, it starts charging at a very low...

9 month - 4200km personal review of my Macan 4

My experiences over 8000 miles and 5 months are very similar. It have not experienced the number of software problems quoted but I have had a couple. Nothing that didn’t correct themselves after a few minutes or getting out of the car, allowing it to lock, then unlocking it. The driving...

    Poor quality wiper blades

Mine are not skippimg. They simply do not wipe the screen without leaving lines as though they were worn out. And this has been from the time they were new (6: months ago).I will be replacing them soon with the Bosch blades which I have on my other cars.

    Inaccurate distance sensors

Probably my only complaint after 7K miles over 4 months is the totally inaccurate sound and camera sensors for parking. This is not new technology—-it has been around for years and I wonder whether anyone has been able to have the side front and back sensors recalibrated.

Spare Tire found! EZ Spare Wheel Installed

Great find. Looks like you have 21 inch rims and the spare is 20 inch. Is that OK?

    Destination SoC estimate going bananas

Please check your charge settings. I keep my arrival SOC at 5 or 10% otherwise it automatically puts in a charge stop and adjusts the arrival SOC accordingly.

    Poor quality wiper blades

I have often wondered why wiper blade technology has never improved over the last 50 years. Doesn't the industry realize how important this? My 4S came with blades which were poor almost immediately, and of course have never improved over the past 6 months. And yes, I keep my windows...

    Extended Parking Update

What was the approx weather temperature when you were away? I think there is still some concern about very hot or cold conditions effect on the batteries. One thread thought you should occasionally switch on the pre heat/ cool function to keep the 12V charged.

    Software updates and faults

It it took my dealer numerous tries to get it to load the update. But eventually it worked. After three hours. No noticeable difference to the car. We have to accept that software is not a strong point in any German car, regardless of the price. The Rivian investment should pay off in the next...
