Hi, my car was delivered on Pilot Sport EV summer tiers on 21" wheels.
Had some problems with tire alignment and my dealer sent them back to Michelin.
Meanwhile used Bridgestone Potenza Sport and oh boy is my ride much more comfortable.
Turns out the EV model of these Michelins is probably very stiff and not comfortable.
The difference is very significant.
Do you have any experience with this?

If so it would mean if you want more comfortable ride you don't have to go for 20" wheels just pick the right tires.

Currently thinking of switching to Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires - should also be much more comfortable then Michelin EVs.

If you do switch to the Michelin A/S 4’s or anything else, please again post back with your ride eval.

I have the all season Michelins on my Macan 4 (21 inch wheels) and find the ride quality to be excellent. For perspective, I've had multiple full size 4WD pickups and numerous sports cars (several Corvettes, Cayman, currently a 911). Ride is VERY subjective - one man's "firm" is another man's "harsh". Simple things like inflation pressure can also have a major influence on ride quality. In general, the lower profile the tire the firmer the ride will be. It's the price you pay for crisp handling.

I started a threath about this. Goodyear is the best choise, according to the labels from Porsche. I can confirm this, I switched my Bridgestones for Goodyears.

I like a sports car firm ride and on good or average roads our 22” wheels with the OEM Michelin EV tires is just fine even in Sport. But on bad roads or in Sports Plus, “no thanks.” I too wished that one change for the 2026’s was, just like the Cayenne has this option, was that they offered a 21” RS Spyder wheel. Oh well, maybe for 2027. They need IMO an additional 21” wheel

Hi to All

Noining the thread.

I ordered my Macan EV 4 with 21” wheels and specified Michelin A/S.

I’ve enjoyed Pirellis over decades on Porsches, BMW. MB and Range Rovers but they are softer (rubber compounds across summer and A/S and Snow). Migrated to Michelin and get better mileage, length of service and overall ride.

Goodyear and Bridgestone great for Chevy Suburban and Ford Pick up I’ve also had (and have) for the family car park.

Michelin are truly terrific.

One fellow owner herein the thread noted his experience with the beautiful Brand X sedan I won’t name. Respecting we all have the right to our opinions, the ride and tires with foam of that sedan cannot be compared to riding in a Porsche notably va a Macan. Maybe a more appropriate comparison would be sedan to sedan for example his beautiful and notably more expensive sedan compared to a Panamera not a lower priced mid sized SUV like a Macan.

So we can opt for 21” wheels on Macans but with Michelin and need to downsize to 20”.

I m not unhappy at all with my 22” Michelins on mine, though as I noted when the roads are rough I change the setting to Sport and then if I want smoother, then to “Normal.”

OK so I changed Michelin Pilot Sport EVs for Pilot Sport A/S and it’s a night and day diference. A/S are much more comfortable, have a much more „natural” feel (more like an ICE car), are quieter, overall great tires. So far I don’t see much of a difference in energy consumption and noise levels are positively surprising.

That is excellent news. Thank you from us all considering replacement tires.

I've never found an A/S with good performance/grip in A/S.

Could be the temp variations. Temps drop to -20C where I'm located in the winter months and 38-40C in the summer months.

For milder climates maybe they are a good choice. There is simply no rubber that can perform well within a 60C range...

Yes, if you want to maximize performance, then using a tire that's designed for those conditions is a must. A high performance summer tire is going to struggle even before you get down to freezing temperatures, and a dedicated winter tire won't do well north of freezing.

Fortunately I live in a climate with few extremes, so the PilotSport A/S works well for me and should do OK when I venture out of it's comfort zone -- I haven't tested that yet.

Pilot Sports A/S, at least in the non EV version are even really good for high performance cars, capable even for a couple track laps before they heat up due to great tread voids and therefore more trex flex.. They are standard on the 2025+ Corvette E-Ray with its 0-60 MPH time of 2.7 seconds.
