I have clocked 4 trips 4,000+ km each so far.
Good:
Power (launch control!)
Onboard nav
Range
Front seat comfort
Porsche charging lounges
Bad:
Safety systems - corrections at worst times
Rear seat comfort
If you find a good dealer that cares, cherish it...
BMW dealer tried to convince me I damaged my own car after they put two dents into it during an oil change! Same crap all over the place.
The irony is the people that represent the brand in front of customers, the dealers, are not Porsche. Most of the time trying to get you in the shop for service hours.
Finding a good dealer is more important than finding a car unfortunately.
Neither are the people writing the software, VW...
Note that the Battery Management System will rebalance the cells at both low (<20%) and high charge rates (100%). I'm surprised there isn't an official statement or at least a paragraph in the manual about this. You just have to be very careful with ambient temps when going the low route...
Simplon pass in the Alps yesterday in blizzard conditions.
Just make sure you are prepared for the worst conditions, and no I dont mean "all" season tires :CWL:
You have to look beyond the curtain before walking into a dealership and understand the brand. Its high and low points.
14 years on (since my first Porsche) and the rear view camera still sucks...
Do I trully care? No.
Why? Because flooring it outshines all the usability
Contrary to what AI bubble lovers are preaching software engineering is very complex, and good software engineering is pure art form.
After CARIAD wasted years on trying to develop a "common" platform that turned into a pure disaster, now VW is shifting CARIAD from an innovator into...
On the contrary, I visit quite often and enjoy it every time. But...my issue is not the charging infrastructure (although Thessaloniki leaves a lot to be desired); it's the overall condition of the roads (width, elevation, markings, abrupt lane endings/constant lane converges, stoplights in the...
Would love to hit the great plains in my Porsche!
If there is a route worth the drive north and under the Channel let me know! Running out of routes in Europe :)
Guys, in my opinion you are overthinking it. There are so many charging stations all over the place that focusing on range at different speeds is a moot point.
Can you outdo the spec if you tried? Definitely. Would it be worth it? In my opinion no. I'd rather enjoy my espresso longer while...
We have it easy in the EU, most Tesla chargers (that I have seen) are CCS2. Just pull up and charge. The part that sucks is their congestion fees; oftentimes you have to drop everything and "Run, Forest, run!" once you hit 80%.
On longer journeys the built-in nav is the only one I use. Nobody even comes close to Porsche's charge planner.
Btw, if you want to see it and Waze at the same time, just bring up the built-in NAV on the main dashboard/speedometer and open Waze (without starting a journey in it) on the center...
Stopped paying attention to ranges a long time ago. Is it hot or is it cold and how cold is it, is it pre-warming is it not, uphill or downhill, recoupe or not, summer or winter tires, am I going 110 or 160km/h....
Pedal to the metal! If you need to charge then charge and move on :) Heck, with...
Not if you are at 100%. Even if the statement on strategy is correct, it still makes no sense why they would do significant discharge before topping it up and yield the inconvenience of waiting for the top-up to complete.
If you have access to an outlet plug in the portable charger. Before you leave drain it to 60%, set the max charge to 50% and call it a day.
If you dont have that option (physically) then make sure someone can jump in and charge the car if need be. 5 months is a long time and at freezing temps...
I managed to get to the bottom of this.
The car *does not* utilize the charger unless the battery drops by two percentage points, at which point it starts to pull from the charger trying to replenish the battery.
From a design standpoint it is what it is, and the engineers made a design choice...
They botched a software update a few months back (aimed at improving car comm stability). Kept denying it and tried to convince me my cars were the issue, then that my charger is old and I need to buy a new one (at a discount)...finally admitted their fault and subsequently fixed it with the...
I stand by my statement that dealers are the true brand experience, and the irony of it is...they are *not* the brand itself.
Unless the dealership owners trully care about the brand to begin with it's all downhill. "More sales at all cost" is the death of brands, but dealers are mostly...
Здравей!
I wouldnt shrug off a drive system fault, especially if it came up after charging is finished and the cable is disconnected.
If its recurring definitely have the dealer run diagnostics. Errors recorded should give a hint what caused the error in the first place.
I have seen charging...
