I was in a bar near St Malo looking through their magazines ( we know them) pretty sure it was a German magazine test - didn’t bother buying magazine but same colour car. Whatever - paper figures for GTS are not a massive leap from 4S unlike 4 to 4S -Yeh this is not a road test but I have watched a few times - love Thomas’s channel & content but if you can find the french road test please share.
For your peace of mind, I initially ordered GTS as replacement for 4S. I liked the looks and wanted something different. If performance would be noticeable better, brilliant. If not, no big deal as 4s sporty enough. Went for Cayenne in the end for different reasons (surely not for driving experience).I agree HP isnt everything, so lots of assumptions being made about the differences in the 2 cars im interested in. Not the 4 or the Turbo

Agree about the poor Cayenne driving experience- had a loaner for a week in 2024 - hybrid in Crayon - poor economy and handled like a ‘ **t on a trampoline’ - asked dealer for a 1980s Transit van next time as they ( arguably) handled better! For your peace of mind, I initially ordered GTS as replacement for 4S. Actually I did just that and the extra power bump was marginal (it always is between any 4S and GTS).By comparison not sure someone who bought a Taycan GTS over a Taycan 4s would agree that extra power is not noticeable. Or probably any other Porsche that sits above another.
Yeh without stating the obvious here - the overall design premise of this car is a noticeably more sportier performance - nobody has driven it yet but we’ll find out soon enough
Thanks ;-). Hope electric is better.Agree about the poor Cayenne driving experience- had a loaner for a week in 2024 - hybrid in Crayon - poor economy and handled like a ‘ **t on a trampoline’ - asked dealer for a 1980s Transit van next time as they ( arguably) handled better!
Some errors in this video too as he mentions a 22kW AC option which is notable by it's absence on the configurator.Yeh this is not a road test but I have watched a few times - love Thomas’s channel & content but if you can find the french road test please share.
It seems everyone here has a different opinion on acceleration so I will post just facts:Macan 4 vs Macan 4s. 4s feels much quicker from 0-20 mph, after that no significant difference.
Yep thats for posting the figures, I think it’s recognised that GTS isnt just about straight line acceleration and for some folk that like some racetex - hopefully once a road test becomes available to read or see online - this might give more insight into the GTS package. It seems everyone here has a different opinion on acceleration so I will post just facts:
0-200 km/h with Launch Control (seconds):
20.9 RWD
19.0 4
14.3 4S
13.3 GTS
11.7 Turbo
Anyone claiming difference between 4 & 4S is insignificant or difference between 4S & GTS is significant refer to above table.
I honestly don't think so. To do so overlooks the fact that a GTS is effectively a detuned Turbo.I think the Turbo will in reality still be the sportiest. In Sport Plus, it’s an absolute beast in the twisties. The GTS is probably the sportiest looking though.
Yup, that's what I'm saying!you are basically saying that the GTS has no place in the line up.
