The latest My Porsche app (released today) has an updated UI in the Online Software Update feature - and now says “Your vehicle is up to date”. Things seem to be progressing in this area, albeit slowly.

I would not be surprised if the PCM UI changes that bring MY2026 changes get delivered OTA. It seems the various ECU and control unit updates need to be dealer updates, but they’d probably be a dependency for the UI updates. Anyway who knows, we’ll see what happens.

if they stopped the 28.13v from rollout to make changes to it.... wouldn't or shouldn't they be rolling out a different verson at this point? Like 28.14...?

You would think so, but maybe we are the beta testers😨

release notes would be nice - you know the sorts of things that software has come with for 40+ years…

This has probably been posted many time (or not) but I found this on the NHTSA website, here: https://share.google/J5sLtGpW1T8KqZQXg seems to be some summary of the WSJ0 campaign. I didn't look through it. fyi.
and people wonder why Porsche doesn't have OTA updates…I'm reading the first few pages of the updates instructions posted on this thread…
  • you need the vehicle on a 90 amp 12V charger during the update process (1 kW power supply - seems about right to run all the on board electronics during update)
  • can't and do not sit in the vehicle while it's happening
  • "Destruction of control units" <----- my personal favorite line from the whole tech bulletin
  • don't mess with the ignition while it's happening…
  • don't do it more than once unless it fails…
I remember these sorts of update instructions for stuff I was playing with in the 1970's…

Well to be fair, the news is that Porsche calls this „the update that brings the look and feel of 2026 models“. Which is simply not true.
It's insane that they can't keep these in parity for their customers and their business.

Can't wait until they move to the Rivian platform to unify these systems.

Macan EV Gen 2 -> Porsche + Rivian Software and Updates = awesome

But damn, can't they at least keep Gen 1 24 and 25 hanging in there and updated for a while longer?

And yes, if they want to have their current losing their minds happy, bring the digital key to 24 and 25.

https://eletric-vehicles.com/rivian...d-crisis-meeting-as-jv-faces-slowdown-report/

Rivian and Volkswagen Group are reportedly facing setbacks in their joint venture, as difficulties in adapting the EV maker’s software to VW models have been delaying the progress on upcoming electric vehicles
  • I wouldn't hold my breath
  • it's very very likely this sort of major change will be future vehicle's only
  • 2028 model-year vehicle's or later are the soonest we'll see this if at
  • there are problems emerging - I'm going to speculate blame lies with VW more than Rivian - in that VW has complex requirements - and it's those requirements they need to let go
  • software is harder than it looks…
  • it's simply ROFL watching legacy automotive manufacturers attempt to do software even with outside help…

I updated the iphone app and at startup it highlights new financial services features and the ability to export trips. The only thing I’ve noticed in the UI is that it shows the time it last checked the car’s status - before it just stated “up to date”. I’ve never found any way to check the version of firmware installed in the car. I haven’t tried my lauch x-431 yet so perhaps it can retrieve it.

People seem to have made up this ‘better’ 28.13 where it seems all Porsche did was work out how to install it better and update their installation process to avoid bricking cars.

Having a 2-tier software update with the same version number would be impossible to manage otherwise, as you point out.

The pause in delivery was fairly short too, and Porsche does not work that fast at adding new features!

Do we know if this email actually is 28.13 or something new/different? I've skimmed the threads and it's not clear what the specific update is.

It is very clear WSJ0 = VR28.13
What @craz8 above says is true.
Update is exactly the same as released 7 months ago.
Zero 2026 features made it to 2024/2025 models.
