So, currently flighting with our dealer's service department on this issue. They told me that the car's running WSJ0 already and that there are no further updates available. They want me to play the "try it using the Porsche charger" game, so they can tell me to go pound sand after that magically works.
@jk_macan4 , are you comfortable sharing the text message that you received from your dealership so I can pass it onto mine?

Received yesterday:

Good morning, a new optional update has been released for your vehicle and based on the update notes my foreman believes that it may correct the issue. When would you like to drop it off with us. We would only need a few hours. Thanks.

the Porsche charger will not magically work - it's a voltage issue - there should be a service invoice that can be shared here and that will reference the software release…

For my 2025 4S I had a "patch" installed, yesterday (on top of WSJ0). The statement on my invoice says: "Software for the High-voltage central box is incorrect after the WSJ0 campaign. 93133540 1.29 Performed the software reversion for the high voltage central box per ATI #2604."
Sounds like they backed out parts of WSJ0.
So far, so good...

Per AI (not always correct as you all know):

Regarding the Macan Electric (XAB) charging issues after Workshop Campaign WSD0, which upgraded the vehicle to software version VR28.11.

ATI #2604 is the internal technical guidance issued to dealers to address Macan EVs that experience AC charging failures (particularly at home) immediately following that VR28.11 update.

The Problem: WSD0 (VR28.11)
The WSD0 campaign was intended to optimize various control units. However, for many owners, the update introduced a "hyper-sensitivity" in the Integrated Power Box (IPB).
• The Symptom: The car suddenly refuses to charge on home Level 2 chargers (even high-end ones like ChargePoint or Tesla Universals) that worked perfectly the day before.
• The Message: Usually "Charging not possible" or "Infrastructure fault" on the PCM.
• The Cause: The new software narrowed the tolerance for "Electrical Supply Variability." If your home grid has even minor fluctuations in voltage or "noise," the Macan now interprets it as a safety risk and kills the session.

The Fix: ATI #2604
Because WSD0 is a "Workshop Campaign" (meaning it’s performed via PIWIS at the dealer, not OTA), the fix in ATI #2604 usually involves:
1. Reprogramming with Code F8G2X: Technicians use this specific programming code to "patch" the central gateway/charging logic.
2. Sensitivity Adjustment: It widens the acceptable "handshake" window for home AC power, essentially telling the car to stop being so picky about minor grid fluctuations.
3. Ground-Fault Logic Reset: In some cases, the update caused the car to throw a "false positive" ground fault (P0AA600); ATI #2604 provides the sequence to clear and recalibrate this monitoring loop.

What should you do?
If you just had WSD0/VR28.11 done and your home charger is now a paperweight, your dealer needs to specifically look up ATI #2604. Some dealerships are still trying to blame the owner's home wiring (the "it's your house, not the car" defense), but this ATI proves Porsche knows the software update is the culprit.

—————

However note that the fix is incomplete based on the most recent reports:

Improvements (for some vehicles)

- Fewer immediate charging aborts
- Some previously failing AC chargers now work
- Reduced frequency of hard faults

Still unresolved / inconsistent

- Persistent “won’t charge at home” cases
- Sensitivity to:
• Slight voltage fluctuation
• Certain EVSE brands
- Intermittent behavior (works one day, fails the next)

There are now two distinct buckets of affected cars:

- Software-only cases
• Improved (partially or fully) by ATI #2604
• No hardware replacement needed

- Hardware-triggered cases
• Still failing even after patch
Likely require:
• Onboard AC charger replacement, or
• HV wiring / isolation component inspection

What Porsche dealers are currently doing.
Typical escalation path (as of now):

1. Apply WSD0 (VR28.11)
2. Apply ATI #2604
3. If unresolved:
• Run isolation diagnostics
• Check grounding / EVSE compatibility
4. If still failing:
• Replace AC charging module (OBC) under warranty

Big-picture takeaway:

- This is not a single bug, but a system-level calibration problem
- Porsche prioritized electrical safety compliance, but:
• Overshot tolerances → broke real-world compatibility
- ATI #2604 is a partial rollback / refinement, not a full fix

What exactly was the WSD0 Software update suppose to do? I received a letter from Porsche, but the benefits mentioned sounded like sales/marketing gibberish…something like, “bring it up to the 2026 Macan feel”.

My experience with software updates on other EV’s I’ve owned is….they do little, and actually can make non-existent issues for the owner, an issue. So, I’ve learned to avoid updates unless I know they specifically address a problem I have with the car.

Update: after not having my vehicle for 3 months got a call saying they want to come to the house and test if the vehicle will charge. Clearly they have updated the vehicle with the new version without asking me but if the charging work I’ll be happy.

Just had the new update and my Macan 4 is charging at home again! I will definitely turn off the auto update feature for now. Love the car!

When I asked my trusted service advisor why should I fix something not broken, he said the update will help insure that it will remain unbroken. The major changes makes it more reliable but are otherwise not visible or obvious.

Some relatively minor things have been mentioned in this thread. I noticed that lane keep works better.

That is great! Can you tell me who your dealership is? Oakville Porsche is still not providing a solution.
I'm sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation in China at the time. I am just getting around to checking my forum messages. My dealership is Kitchener Waterloo.

I guess the question is did they just revert a module of the software that was at fault or the wholw WSJ0 update? I would certainly hope it is the former.
To my understanding, they call it an update. But I think it's an update released to revert back to it's previous working version. Perhaps the update only reverts backs certain modules that was changed with the December update.

Got the car update fix today and it’s charging at home😊
I'm glad it worked for you. Apparently they can't seem to install the update on my vehicle. Gary tried twice earlier this morning and the car won't take it.

This is my first Porsche. After waiting 4 months for Porsche to solve what I consider a major problem (this is not the same as a rattling seat belt), I may have become a cynic.
If this update is simply a rollback to a previous version, then Porsche may have rationalized that since only a small percentage of owners were experiencing a charging problem, then an even smaller percentage are likely to complain about the other random problems that VR18.13 was intended to solve. Therefore, the rollback, for Porsche, is good enough for now.
Hope that's not the case.
I certainly hope it's not the case. But I hope that all our problems has helped Porsche's engineers learn something, and so that they won't make the same mistake again. However, seeing how incapable they are at accountability and accepting fault, my guess is this could happen again. But as owners, we can band together to help put pressure on them. Even with all of us banding together and putting pressure on the dealerships, it still took them 4 months to get this resolved.

He told you that you need the software so that things that are NOT broken, remain unbroken? 🤔 WTF.

Seems to me that Porsche needs a new PR man.
