New here. Ordered. The dealer’s next available build slot was August. He traded another dealer for a late April slot. So I can expect my Macan 4 in May/early June. Living in Germany, about two hours south of Stuttgart, I don’t have to worry about shipping or tariffs.

This is my first Porsche, my first SUV, and my first electric vehicle. I’ve driven Audis until now, this is replacing my 2006 A6 Avant which has been a very, very good car. I never considered an SUV or a Porsche, but among the choices in the class I was considering (Q6 eTron, IX5, EQE, Macan) the Porsche was clearly the best of the batch, even though the Mercedes is more expensive. Best for my wants and needs, of course, very subjective. And equipped the way I want, the difference relative to price class between the Audi and the BMW on the one hand, and the Macan on the other is not significant. It does annoy me that the German market is subsidizing the US market, but I can’t do much about that.

Anyway, it may not be an air-cooled mid-engine sports car, but I’m pretty cranked up about it. And I don’t even enjoy driving.

Compare prices and standard equipment in the US and German configurators. Then factor in shipping. There are no oceans or international borders on the 260km route from Zuffenhausen to my town. Then figure the dollar is worth about 90% of the euro.

Im new to these forums but was curious if this amout of waiting at the port is normal. We ordered a 2025 Macan 4S EV, and here are the dates:

4/11/2025 - build locked in
7/7/2025 - Macan 4S is finished being built
7/17/2025 - Set sail to US
9/4/2025 - arrived at Baltimore port

Its been at the port since September 4th and its now Oct 8th. The app keeps moving back the delivery to the dealership date. Today is the 3rd time it has pushed it back and now states it estimates between Oct 14 - Oct 26.

Is this a normal amount of time, or should I call my rep at the dealership to see what the hold up might be?

Do yourself a favor and call the dealership. It might be a specific recall or update they are waiting for, might as well talk to them today to get your mind off it.

A tip for someone among many people on this forum that has had to deal with many different Porsche dealers from across the globe, do NOT wait for them. Do it yourself.

As an update on my 4S order, I did call our sales rep on Wednesday the 8th. She said they will contact those at the port (including those inspecting / updating software etc) to see what the hold up is. I could read between the lines of what she was telling me, that the wait is longer than normal.

We haven't heard back since. Yesterday, I noticed that the dealership already has 2026 models ready for sale. Since we couldn't order a 2026 in March when we placed the order (build locked in April), this got me wondering. I could be totally wrong, but to me, this means the 2026 models were build AFTER my 2025, and got to the dealership BEFORE mine (since mine is still at the port).

So after talking with my wife, we decided we might cancel this 2025 4S model and instead see if we can lock in a 2026. We didn't want delivery during the winter time anyway. I e-mailed the general manager and sales rep, asking (no angry tone or anything as such) if they knew what was going on with the 4S we ordered and why its taking so long. We also informed them we are considering canceling this 4S order as we have no idea what "could" be wrong with the car and instead, maybe ordering a 2026 model.

He responded the say day, which is appreciated. He apologized for the delay and he would be looking into why it hasn't arrived yet. He also said we can switch to a 2026 model if we wanted to. But, we would loose out on a $7500 credit as a "sorry for the delay" discount.

I'm not quite sure what to do as my wife is starting to get upset at this whole mess. Just checking the app, it still says step 10 "Your Macan 4S is on its way to your Porsche Center" is slated between Oct 14th - Oct 26th. The past 3 times, the second day into the the step (so this will be the 15th currently) it always gets pushed out father.

Does anyone have some suggestions of what I could do or should be thinking about?

If any of the 2026 cars they have in stock have the right spec for you then why not just take one of those - is the $ 7k ‘discount sorry for delay’ or the subsidy/ tax credit that won’t apply on a car ordered now ?
