Many threads above have mentioned concern about the Cayenne EV pricing as a major factor in their consideration and eventual decision. Curious since three media sources have said that the 2026 Cayenne would start with an entry model and a Turbo as did the Macan EV, what do you estimate would be the MSRP for each one (USD)?
Easy:
- Cayenne base: $too much
- Cayenne Turbo: $waaay too much

That was not a helpful response. Cute but not helpful. I have always looked forward to your knowledgeable and informative previous posts. Might you please try again as I have valued your previous posts? Thank you.

Theoretically they know that pricing it too expensive will only lead to the same as their Taycans: Big discounts on MSRP and other deals to get the car out. Depreciation is a factor and I find it hard to believe that after all the bad financial reports to be stupid enough to price it too high.

In conclusion, I’ve heard that they might price it at probably the same price as the current e-hybrid. About 120k USD in Sweden, which is a quite okay price due to it having many things coming as standard

Come on John, this is also a place to let loose and have a little fun - why such a reaction to a playful post?

But point taken, guessing prices is a serious topic, I won’t joke around (oops šŸ™ƒ).

I expect around 20-22% price increase over the ICE version.
I’d wager Base at around $110k and Turbo in the $180k ballpark.

Thank you, e.g. all I wanted was your informed perspective. I too think in the $110K entry ballpark, though hoping for $165K MSRP for the Cayenne Turbo.

Miss GoElectric suggested that it is probable that the Cayenne EV is released at the LA Auto Show which starts on Nov 21st, i.e., if confirmed, that is just less than two months away. We shall around then seewhat Porsche is wanting for their Cayenne EV for as we noted the head of Porsche openly confirmed it will be revealed before this year is over.

Might be right. Porsche themselves in a press release stated that it will LAUNCH by the end of the year. So it is more than probable that it’ll be shown during that time period

Of course as noted, that while for some the Cayenne EV is interesting to learn more about, maybe even purchase, for others already as TonO and others have determined, ā€œnot for me.ā€

At the very least I always like to learn more about new Porsche models — even though such as the new mega 911 that I know up front would never fit into our world. From A to Z, with the new Cayenne EV being a curiously at best for some. my wife and I would like to learn more and it might be our next Porsche when our Macan EV lease is over. Or…, when revealed for price and/or other reasons, it could become a hard pass for us at the other extreme.

As a ballpark, 10-15% more than a similarly equipped Macan? Maybe that’s optimistic.

In some of the press videos Porsche personnel have said that the Cayenne EV will start at the same price as the Cayenne e-hybrid.

i'm going to have to agree with him about the overall quality of the Macan Electric. I'm waiting for my 4S to be delivered (SGNeo) and my ICE Macan GTS was in the shop for an oil change last week and they put me in a low mileages service loaner Macan 4 EV. Our dealership has six in their fleet. It only had 930 miles on it and it felt like it was falling apart.. interior components were creaking from all over the inside of the cabin. It didn't hold a candle to my GTS so I'm really nervous right now.

I've also driven a few new Macan 4 that had less than 100 miles on them while I was considering options for my own build. Each one of them without exception had a dash rattle, cabin squeak or some combination, and one of them had a suspension knock.
Strange. My Macan 4 is quite as a mouse. The only rattling I get is from the passenger seat belt buckle when it has dropped down when not in use and I just tuck the sliding clip back up and it stays quiet.

It needs to start at a reasonable price or their EV strategy is dead(er) in the water. Matching the e-hybrid price is a great way to get some movement. At that price, I'd be interested.

Let's hope they realise this.

Hi to All.

As we are all Porsche devotees and more often than not are repeat buyers from this iconic global leader (!!!), it’s ok to poke some fun on this forum.

For a little sanity check, all brands (German, US etc) have seen China Market dynamics change rapidly in past 18-24 months. 2024 thru ytd ā€˜25 have been especially painful.

Am sure we’ve seen BMW, Mercedes both joining Porsche’s most recent (more than once in Past 4 months!!) updates on global sales.

911 models at any price sell. By the way, that why there are no ā€œprogram promotionsā€ on 911 financing including in the US with PFS.

Conversely, the numbers for VWGroup including Audi and Porsche are not stellar.

At some point, major markets including the US - which is currently perhaps the single largest country market for the Germans - witnesssd strong sales through Sept as consumers rushed to avoid the Tarrifs impacting all-in landed pricing.

As the market settles into new reality of Tarrif wars, having important models like the Cayenne reaching mid to high $100k ranges may impact the wallets of well intended devotees who truly want a 911 but wives’ and children’s needs for an all around (ICE, Hybrid, EV) midsized SUV from Porsche ) become ā€œa bit too muchā€.

Sure Porsche’s will sell at higher prices.

We should reflect on how possible pricing levels may reduce addressable market of potential buyers for this model vs other models with unintended consequences for HQs CFO and Global Sales execs thinking about global sales, revenues, gross margin, EBITDA, FCF and ultimately the share price.

Porsche makes fantastic cars across the model range.

How many of specific models will ultimately be sold with incentive programs, pricing concessions to Dealers to clear inventory before next year models arrive will not be unattended. Pricing will shape those outcomes.

Porsche also wants to make money not just sell high volumes of midstream cars.

Loving Porsche I too am awaiting 2026 Cayenne model revamp and keeping my Macan 4 another year until Q4 2026. Which by the way is a dream machine now that software bugs have been solved.

Am hopeful for a new and exciting Cayenne variant. Fingers crossed.

Otherwise I’ll get on my knees and beg my wife to allow me to go back to my 1st love: a new 2026 model 911 Carrera 4 or 4S.

Ciao for now. Paolo

In one of the recent reveal videos, it was mentioned that the Cayenne will accept DC only on the left side and AC only on the right side. I AC charge regularly in two different garages and would want AC on both sides of the vehicle for convenience. Not sure if they did this so they could put NACS on this vehicle, but it is a step back from the Macan.

I AC charge regularly in two different garages and would want AC on both sides of the vehicle for convenience. Not sure if they did this so they could put NACS on this vehicle, but it is a step back from the Macan.

The director of the Cayenne’s energy systems Marco Schmerbeck told us that the team understands this is a problem and is already engineering the driver-side mounted NACS port to be able to perform both AC and DC charging. But it’s not a quick fix that can be implemented before production. So early Cayenne Electrics will be like this, and it’ll be that way for the life of the car, there’s no over-the-air update that can tackle this hardware issue. Nor can a special adapter unlock AC charging through the NACS port. It just won’t work.

Schmerbeck noted there’s no timeline but the idea is to have the situation corrected as quickly as possible. Porsche High Voltage lead Dr. Maximilian Müller imagines the updated cars will roll off the assembly line whenever the hardware design update is implemented and the automaker wouldn’t wait for a model year change, though no firm decision has been made yet.
