I feel for you.
You definitely had a lemon. Should have forced them to take it back or swap to a new one.
Which EV are you considering next?
Thanks!

The problem is that, in the first place, my favorite car was the Macan EV...
Maybe an iX3, but without passion ; any valuable suggestions?

Mine’s one of those UK “salary sacrifice” company cars. Only got mine in March and am loving it, despite the range not being quite what was advertised (260 vs 370 miles) - although that is also probably due to not having done too many long journeys as yet, so not all calibrated properly.
Subject to if I retire when the company lease is up/ what happens to the second hand market/ my health requirements I’m definitely interested in getting another at that time.

I love my 4S and it is my first Porsche. I have always said that I plan/hope for a 911 in my future, so I don’t plan on it being my last Porsche.

I am driving this car more than I did my other car pre-Porsche (and I still have my 440i, the engine is one of the best engines ever made). In the summer I will drive from the UK to Spain (by myself as none of my family want to come along, but I like driving too much not to do it)

I put all that first, but I have had issues. Even buying the car I had to deal with dealers who couldn’t be bothered to call back despite going to the dealership in person and asking for a test drive. Once I had the car I genuinely have a spreadsheet listing the seven consecutive times that a Porsche representative failed to call me after having said they would. So my Porsche experience hasn’t been as special as I hoped.

I think given a free choice I would go ICE, but can see the appeal of EVs, I will never get tired of flooring it :) .

Given that as long as I keep up the monthly payments I can choose whatever I like in March 2028, it seems too good a chance to try something else. I intend to try a wide range of cars, from Volvo EX60, BMW ix3, and many others, but my heart says the electric BMW M3. Knowing BMW it will be a great car, and I can go to my grave saying I once owned an M3 (as I drive off in to retirement in my 911!)

I have a high tolerance for risk. I configured and ordered my 2024 Macan 4 in June 2024, purchasing it upon delivery in December 2024. The first six months went well, and so we bought a second (CPO) for my wife In June 2025. We will keep these for 4-6 more years; might move back to a Cayenne then, but too soon to decide that.

As an aside, I got an invite from my Porsche dealer to visit them this weekend to see the Cayenne EV. Will be doing that just to check it out.

Mine is one of the early ones from Oct 2024. I purchased it and over the last couple of years it has been pretty problem free. We have been on a pretty long 4000km+ roadtrip across europe during this time and that was a good enough test to know I could keep it for longer.

We will likely keep it 6 to 7 years at this point, or until battery tech improves into the next generation commercially available. My only gripe is how heavy the car feels perhaps. Any weight shaved off from the battery packs in the future will be a blessing.

We extended the regular warranty by 4 years for peace of mind because let's face it, we all know the cost of repairs in the later years is nothing to mess with.

The Macan 4 S is a very nice car, but is not top notch for range , and charge now (Volvo EX 60 , BMW IX3 ... )
I have loaned my car for 4 years ( I recieved it since october) I will see if Porsche will update it when I have to replace it.

I’d appreciate your view of it versus the Macan - I optioned up a Macan 4s with the same options on my order for the Cayenne EV Coupe base - the Cayenne was just £ 3k more.

Never again a Porsche EV.

My particular car sucks and is dangerous, and beyond that I can't accept an EV car where the software is obsolete after 12 months, where the maintenance/repair costs are so expensive, where the rare software updates change the BMS/SoC behavior in a wrong way.
1% loss of SoC per day is not normal, it's an electronic and ecological aberration, it's not a feature.

But I'm not going back to ICE!
I'm with you! Had nothing but issues with my Turbo since taking ownership in Nov 24. Porsche finally acknowledged it had a major safety fault and resolved the majority of the major issues in April 2025 (although it's still buggy as hell), by which time I'd put a deposit down on the new Mercedes GLC Electric in February. I got to test drive one last week once they made it to dealerships from production kicking off in March and am really happy with it as a replacement for the Macan. Sooooo many more gadgets and useful tech than the Macan, for £25k less than the Macan was brand new. Thankfully we bought the Turbo outright so other than taking a hit on the depreciation, we're at least free to swap it at any time. The Merc should be with me in July or early August and I can't wait! Bye Bye Porsche forever!

Good luck - as they say - the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence ........ until you get on the other side of the fence. I owned a GLC 300 - and traded it for a Macan ICE. There is a change in the driving dynamic of a Mercedes SUV vs Porsche SUV. Again - good luck.

It would be a world record if my unknown new car is worst than a dangerous, not reliable, obsolete and very expensive medium tech brand new macan EV!
My particular macan turbo is very particular
