I bought a macan turbo in early September and had a dash fault after two weeks that read Drive System Control Fault.
I was told by sales guy I bought the vehicle from it was a software update!
Two weeks later with this fault making an appearance two or three times, i was travelling from London to Scotland on a trip of 428 miles.
I had to charge the car 3 times.
The car has been at Porsche dealership now for a month and still the 100% charge shows only 244 miles.
I have done 1700 miles so far and Porsche have done over 300 miles while trying to empty and recharge / reset modules etc. What range is actually fact with these turbos as it’s nowhere near 300 on days Shen it’s 15degrees never mind 3 degrees.
the amount of energy my car is using is incredible.
Incidentally, another dealership told me my car had a catastrophic fault when I was there dealership for my third charge on my return journey.
Craig.

Your car is using more than mine. I took it for our first long trip in cold weather. Got 185 miles going from 100% SOC to 20%. Was about 41 kWh/100 miles compared to your 50. Outdoor temp was ~20F/-4C. Right now the car is at 79%/207 miles.

Thanks Jim. Trying to understand what is the actual achievable mileage is with a turbo?

cheers Craig.

Mine is at +-230 miles (352km) at 80% charge and around 6 degrees celsius outside.
Average consumption on long (easy right foot trip with these temperatures) is around 34kWh/100miles or 21.3kWh/100km in my case.

I Bet I can do around 30kWh/100miles in the summer period but only got the car for 3 weeks.

(22” RS Spyder wheels)

I’ve had my Turbo for a few days now, and would be interested in knowing the answer too….what am i likely to expect in the UK winter for both urban and motorway driving

100% charge, driving 55 mph (90 kmph) in reasonable temperature, on 20 inch wheels, I can probably do >320 imperial miles in the Turbo. (I haven't done this at the full length, but this is what the math says.)
Cold weather, 75+ mph, hilly terrain, not wanting to stay at 100% charge ... 250 miles, maybe.

Appreciate that. So moving from 20” to 22” wheels would roughly knock 5–10% off those figures I’d imagine

A couple of things to consider:

Size of rims and tyres fitted? 20" aero are best for range and 22" worst.

Data provided shows a high consumption but given your average speed (64 moh) that should not be surprising.

Set your units to miles/kwh to save some math and then share your Total Trip details from the app as this will provide a better data set than a single trip in isolation.

Motorway driving is typically the worst for range as the opportunity to recoup energy is less.

Sportier drive modes will consume more energy.

The range estimate is just that an estimate which takes historical usage data into consideration- driving style, journeys etc.

Chemistry of the battery is better than original Taycans (J1.1) and so winter driving will be less impactful on range.

Short trips lead to high consumption.

Rely on consumption data rather than the guessometer readout.

Ignore WLTP range estimates as these are lab based and not indicative of real world driving. A differential of up to 30% would not be surprising.
