I am also getting the same wheels so I am hoping the ride is great. We also have great roads in most areas I drive 😊

You’ll love it.
the look of the wheels is definitely worth the reduction in range! We tend to get between 2.8 and 3 m/kwh at the moment.

Indeed, I am ok with that. I charge at home 95% of the time with the occasional 2 - 3 hr trip so never really need to fast charge during a trip.

I am just about to sell my Nov 24 Turbo because of the amount of issues it’s had. Rattles and associated noise were one of the few things it hasn’t suffered with actually! I’ve got a deposit down on a Merc GLC EV since Feb, and test driving on Wednesday as the demo models came into the dealership on Thursday. My first and last Porsche. Over priced, fast but full of troubles, doesn’t have actually working functionality I need eg smart cruise control/innodrive and route topography that actually works; charging port that opens when you want it to; not having loads of error messages every time I turn the car on…. Even if the Merc has some similar issues - the top of the range is still £30k less than the Turbo, and less likely to try to kill me when the made departure kicks off. Bloody Macan!

Lesson here to early adopters rushing to get the newest shiny gadget. Completely new product, electronics and sensor heavy, rushed to market after being 2 years overdue, deceptively called Macan while having zero components in common and nothing in common with Taycan. This is just part of the usual "roll it out then figure it out scheme.". There is not a single one that I test drove that did not have some kind of issue even the latest 2025 Turbo delivered in January of 2026. I am hoping mine arriving in July will be trouble free.

There was no rush to get a shiny new gadget - I was due a change of car so bought a vehicle from a reputable brand based on my husband having bought a Taycan and having no such issues. From your experience of your test drives mentioned above, I’m surprised you ordered one because you’re definitely not going to be trouble free! Good luck with that.

Luck can change? :)
Apart from the route topography issue, a well-known problem in the UK (I just manually change speed with a flick of the stalk), I rarely ever have any other issues/errors. Even then they disappear quickly.

Definitely a risk and not a small one but betting they figured it mostly out by now. As you are pointing out it is a matter of circumstance and will be a net new family car for my son's commute where EV is the best for it and since I am stuck in the Porsche vortex, that was the only choice. My daily driver is a 2023 Taycan Turbo with zero issues, but many I know with 2020/2021/2022 having some issues that I would not be happy about. For full transparency, I will report any issues I find as I get it and will tag you so you can see how I am doing. I am very detailed oriented so no issue will go unnoticed - guaranteed.

Yes, if we were all smart consumers, we would have waited for the 2026 Macan and we would wait for the 2028 GLC EQ. But shiny things make my lizard brain go "ooooh"

I don't want to discount anyone's negative experience, since bad examples do exist especially on new releases of new platforms. I will say for the record since the Internet skews negative, for anyone else reading this, my 2025 turbo has been fantastic. And it also seems the VR28.13 software update fixed a lot of the early annoyances.

Great feedback on the 2025 Turbo, so wonder when you got it delivered. I drove one in January and the first thing was ACC not usable, so had to stop/shutdown/wait, and then it was working. The dealer said this has something to do with the sun shining into the ACC sensor. Any older ones I drove RWD, 4, and 4S had many more issues from trim, rattles, errors, etc. Hoping for much better luck with the upcoming our own 2026 but have full list of things to verify at delivery.

I took delivery in June '25. I bought it off the lot and don't remember the actual build date.

One of the fixes of the VR28.13 update was to make the sensors less sensitive to error conditions, so those issues should be reduced.

Although this sounds made up, I have had a weather sensor replaced behind the windshield. The main symptom was the HUD fading out when facing into the sun. There is a workshop notice for the diagnostic and replacement under warranty

That is probably so, but it was standing outside facing the sun, then I took it for a test drive with no errors but when I wanted to enable ACC to test that out, it was all greyed out. I called them and they said to do the stop/lock/wait and that restored the function.

This was a 2025 Turbo just delivered in January 2026 (odd) but that is what I test drove.

Looking to purchase a new Macan Electric in the next few weeks, probably a GTS. I've had two test drives so far, a 4S on steel adaptive suspension and 22" wheels and a GTS on 22" wheels. I know the GTS comes with air suspension as standard and the car i drove had rear wheel steering as well. The 4S left me impressed in some areas (handling, steering and brakes) but underwhelmed in others (ride quality, harsh vibrations through seats and the chassis transmitted road surfaces as vibrations through the cabin. It also had some annoying rattles from the front door trim tops, side windows, B pillar trim, dash top, and rear seat area). The GTS addressed a lot of the ride quality issues as well as eliminating 99% of the harsh vibrations being transmitted though the 4S. The front end also felt more connected. Unfortunately, it suffered from some of the same interior rattles and creaks and just didn't feel well screwed together at all. Both were new cars so a bit disappointing. I just wanted some clarity on whether these trim rattles are normal (an internet search says probably) but then people only tend to post negatives so maybe biased. I'm coming from a well specced BMW i4 M50 on 20's with 285/30 rear and 255/35 front tyres so very little side wall. It has steel adaptive front and adaptive air at the rear and deals with road imperfections better than the Macan, it's also virtually rattle free and feels luxurious in comparison. That said, as good as the BMW is it hasn't got the steering feel or brake feel of the Macan which was amazing. Looking for views and experiences before I place my order.
One more testimonial. I have a 2025 4S. Have had it for 18 months now. I have 21 inch wheels with Michelin tires. I have no noises, no rattles (modulo that seat belt which I fixed for a few bucks on Amazon). It's my 3rd Porsche. No major issues. Some software glitches and one incident with the powered charging door that was mostly my fault. Glitches go away within a few minutes. Good luck with it. I have no regrets. Make sure you have a decent dealer. I have noticed that a number of negative experiences posted on this forum stem from dealers that seem to take your money and run..
