I received an alert from FedEx last Friday, indicating that my adapter should arrive tomorrow. If I recall correctly, I submitted the Porsche form approximately a month ago.

So I just had to test it today after it came in. Found the nearest Tesla chargers and used the Tesla app to log in and enter the charger I was near. Easy. Then I start the charge but next I realized that the Tesla cable is really short so you have to be right up against it. So I put down the plug and backed up the car some more and finally connected. Fits great. But I got an error..."Charge not possible now"??

Humm...let's try that again...but the plug will not disconnect! The button on the car is RED and nothing I can do either app or in the car will release it. Ok, now what...I looked in owners manual for something about a stuck charger and it turns out there is yellow cord under the driver side rear trunk side trim that you pull to reset the lock. Bingo, that fixed it.

What did I do wrong? Either I took too long to insert the plug or it was a bad charger. Not wanting to take the chance, I moved over to anther charger that someone had just left (so I knew it worked) and tried again. Same process and it started charging just fine.

I have a '24 Macan 4 ... I didn't receive any message about NACS adaptors or the new Tesla charging functionality.

I emailed Porsche USA multiple times, and they told me the would resend it. Nothing arrived.

Phoned 1-800-PORSCHE today and they told me they would put me on the 'priority list' ... still not holding my breath.


So far, charging my Macan on public charging infrastructure has been unpleasant, flaky and unreliable. I have nearly run out of juice because I was sent to a charging site that was not open, and then a second one where most of the charging stations didn't work (and had completely destroyed touchscreens) and my credit card was billed $55 for 15mi of additional range.

Compared to charging my old Tesla Model 3, this is so AWFUL that I am really reconsidering whether I should go back to gasoline.

Porsche customer services are shockingly bad as well.

Mine arrived this morning, November 24th, via FedEx (shipped 19 November from Atlanta.) Ordered it on September 30th. No notification was sent when it shipped. It is a very nice, robust, piece of hardware. Much heavier than I expected.

Thanks for the info. I have not yet received the email or message in the app for my '25 4S purchased in May 2025. Hopefully soon!

Update: I received the email on September 29 and ordered the same day. The adapter finally shipped on November 20 and arrived today (November 24).
