I’m going to wait a while before having the software update, if it ever becomes available. My car is having no problems and Porsche tends to keep the car way too long, sometimes days, for an update that may take only a couple of hours or less. I may even wait for my two year scheduled service appointment… unless the update is so great that gives the car the ability to fly! Lol
However, it is going to be interesting to see what changes and whether there are any associated glitches.

OMG. This is just like half of the posts on Reddit, that I thought I would avoid by joining a forum full of owners with driving, ownership and tip information.

You’d think… it was pretty solid thru end of 2024 but the ratio of useful posts to whiny posts has steadily deteriorated this year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The reason is obvious: after 6 months of ownership, all the tips have been discovered and shared. I did my part.
Moreover, remember, no software updates, and as a consequence no new tips to share.

Since monday, My car is in for the third time in a row because of red circle of death, now the car is dangerous because sometimes red circle of death = full loss of power, I can't move the car and i need to reboot it several times to retrieve the power... they acknowledged it's dangerous when they saw the video of one instance of the problem.

They didn't know a big update was coming, and I strongly suggested them not to apply any software update, before finding what causes my problems.

So sorry to hear that! What saddens me anymore is that it sounds like my cars problem. What is quite worrying in my opinion is that they told me that this specific issue was due being solved ONLY by the software update. This was stated from PAG and not my dealers own opinion. I would want you to reassess with your dealer to see what Germany says, because we are in that case getting conflicting answers from two different dealers. Is your red circle of death connected to any high voltage warning btw?

Hope you get a solution that is way faster than mine.

Update is officially released and available at the dealers, I have written confirmation as well.

I’ve just dropped an email to my service manager here in NZ. I’ll see if any news of the update has made it to him and if there are any details about What it includes.

Sorry to hear. I agree, would only agree to software update if description in technical software notes matches exactly your fault. I am in a similar position, 3 red circles happened in 1st week of ownership. They blame it on tracker but I think it’s due to faulty charger. Documents provided so far are neither conclusive nor applicable.

made appointment for the 2026 software update for next Monday. “we need 3 hours”.

My service guy just called me, not sure they will be able to make it. first car they are trying to update failed three times already.

Would be interested to see what the version number is on the new release and the million-dollar question of what potential new features (if any) it may bring.

My vehicle hasn’t had the earlier VR 28.11 update done yet (no real faults to speak since taking delivery in late Feb besides 3 PCM resets) - so I might sit on the fence a bit longer to see how things go…

Has anyone here had experience with Taycan software updates?

My dealer mentioned that they need to test the update on one of their own cars before doing it on mine, and I also heard from @Petzi that their dealer has already failed to install the update three times on one of their cars.

So I’m wondering: does anyone know if the difficulty or failure to complete the update process says anything about the quality or stability of the update itself? I’m slightly worried the car might actually get worse after the update, haha.

Appreciate any insights or experiences you can share!

I consider this post a race. Who will be the first to get this mythical update? Personally, speaking from experience (1 month in dealership for an update) I am happy to sit this one out and watch from the sidelines the chaos unfold.
Best of luck to all the contestants, we can have categories for country, model, etc. so more (virtual) prizes.
