I left my 2024 model at the dealer for another round of issues.
Got a 2025 loaner with a very similar configuration.
I noticed there is a big difference in consumption.
I often travel on highways and make the same routes.
I've driven over 1000 kms so it's a decent comparison.

In similar conditions where mine consumes 28-30 kWh/100km this loaner takes 22-24 kWh/100km.

This is a massive difference and the dealer told me other clients reported similar observations.
They claim newer models consume much less energy and are trying to figure out why, what's changed.

The only visible difference is 1) wheels (but it shouldn't be more 5% diff) and tires (I have Michelins, the loaner is on Bridgestones).

This is very strange. Good news for me ( I will have my 4S in late september) , but there is no explanation considering that it's the same motor and the same car.
As you said, wheels , should not be more than 5 %

Might just be difference in guess-o-meter itself? Or was a full range test done?

I look @ the avg consumption reported during the trip.
The difference is significant and consistent.

Also when charged to 100% after arriving at my usual destination the loaner has well above 20% capacity left compared to 10-15% in mine. I have the car for a week and can do some more testing but it seems other customers reported similar findings.

Are both the same model and using the same regen setting?
Yes, the difference is:
- loaner has roof railings and rear wiper (which is not an advantage)
- loaner has 20" wheels and Bridgestone tiers, mine has 21" Michelins
- loaner is a very fresh production 2025 MY, mine was delivered 09/2024
- other details like colour and options should not matter much
- drive settings are the same (suspension settings, regen etc)

I saw one Porsche dealership video in which the Porsche rep said that having the rear wiper was a 4% range hit. Never saw it anywhere else; have no idea where they got that info.

There are earlier posts about this - if you go to the configurator and look at the range of a basic car then add say the rear wiper or 22” wheels the expected range will reduce.

I was told initially by a salesman that adding a wiper would lose 20 miles range but the configurator only reduces by 1 mile. Adding 22” wheels reduces it by 17 miles which seems to be about right.

The biggest difference is probably 21 inch vs 20 inch. But that should be in the area of 5%. Your numbers suggest a 25% increase which I doubt can be explained by any combiantion of options. Did you really drove with the same temperature and same distances?

Yeah he made that up i think. It does increase drag hence the reason it is an option so that Porsche could claim a lower drag number. I doubt if the difference is measurable in terms of range but could be wrong.

Yes, I have a good testing scenario - I drive between two cities once a week, I take the same route, it's 300 kms each way, so 600 kms mostly on highway with little traffic that allows for constant 140-150 km/h. Weather conditions can vary but lately it's around 25C most of the time and this is the base value (28-30 kwh/100) I'm comparing to, driving 130-40 km/h in rain and wind results in 30+ kwh/100 in my car.

What struck me most is that my SA told me other clients noticed it too with someone mentioned doing the familiar route on one charge which is not possible with his car. So they are trying to figure it out because clients ask for this after giving back the loaner.
