I’ve not had exactly the same issue, but I was woken at 11pm one night by the alarm going off whilst the car was in my garage at home. The system said the frunk was open (it wasn’t) so then the rest of the car wouldn’t lock. Several attempts at locking/starting/trying to open the frunk (sometimes it did, but other times didn’t)/turning off the car etc it finally recognised the frunk was closed, so the car locked. Repeated that debacle at 4am too when the frunk had opened itself and set the alarm off.

My dealer agreed to take it in that day as an emergency job (they logged it as a Porsche Assist job) and within half an hour of me driving away I had a notification via the app to say the alarm was going off 😆 Turned out to be a faulty frunk lock, which they replaced. No specific cause - just poor equipment.

My Macan 4EV '24 frunk has popped open on two occasions in the last couple of months. It's a safety concern if this happens while I'm driving. The first month I owned my Porsche, My windows would go down on their own and other annoyances. The dealer applied a software update so that was fixed last year. They had my car for one week. At this price point, it's a disappointment to have issues and the dealer says that's just the way it is with these EVs. btw, the dealer only has one EV mechanic for all of El Paso, Juarez MX, and Southern NM, where I live. If I schedule service I'll be without my car at least one, two or three weeks and there are no loaners. I live an hour away so transportation is on me, too. This is my dream car that is sooo much fun to drive, so I'm just hoping these things get sorted out eventually. Ty

@Petzi BTW how often do you use DC charging with these cars?
when I am arround town or weekend house I have my AC chargers. When I drive long distance I use DC chargers. Both works perfectly. I have been to Italy 3 times und follow the charging planner.

It’s a fantastic car, just had this happen, so came here to look why. Key in jacket pocket, nothing in pocket with it, up it goes. I had a light on the wiper helping me clean the hood getting wife’s car ready for a trip, that was driven into the windshield, so guess what happens next. If you are doing anything around the car, keep the key far far away from the car. I hope they have the thermal windscreens in stock nearby!

As things go, it’s not awful but I learned never have that key around the car while cleaning it. Put it far enough away for the alarm to set.

And I also learned this is critical if wiping the car down. Hand swipes open the frunk apparently! So lock the car and keep the key far away if wiping the car down. Probably wiping the car did it based on all the videos I just watched!
