Some new publications on the Cayenne EV coming out. Some of them are interesting!

https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2026-porsche-cayenne-electric-prototype-first-drive

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a65810736/2026-porsche-cayenne-electric-prototype-drive/

"Porsche is also throwing lots more new tech at the Cayenne EV (although many of these items will cost extra): power opening and closing doors, heated center and door armrests, a power second-row seat, a glass roof with variable light control, an augmented-reality head-up display, and a hands-free driving mode that will work on limited-access highways."

"The Cayenne also inherits the excellent Active Ride system from the Taycan and Panamera, and the body control and ability to soak up bad roads are just as magical in the Cayenne as in the lower-riding Porsches"

"As in earlier Porsche EVs, the Cayenne’s selectable regen modes never decelerate the SUV more than a combustion engine in a high gear would"

"The Cayenne Turbo launches with slingshot acceleration and the familiar sound of …Porsche’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8?! That’s right, Porsche is jumping on the internal combustion lip-syncing bandwagon with what it calls Porsche Electric Sound despite the soundtrack sounding identical to eight gas-squeezing cylinders."

"The Cayenne's most notable interior feature, though, comes standard. Instead of standing tall above the dashboard, the SUV's central touchscreen is bent in the middle at a roughly 45-degree angle. With this curve, it conforms to both the shape of the dashboard and center console, forming an unbroken waterfall of pixels. The electric Cayenne's software was designed to take advantage of this shape, such that you can rest your palm on a pad just below the screen and securely toggle through climate, media and vehicle settings. Or you can maximize the map display to take up the full display."

"Aero blades that pop out of the rear fenders on command. Genuine off-road abilities. And [redacted] in the interior, which, oops, I’m not supposed to talk about yet."

Jury is still out and will be for a while yet. In any case I will not bereplacing in the traditional sense that I am now selling my Macan and buying a Cayenne next year, for PRICING will be a major consideration but even it turns out okay, I will be enjoying my Macan until the last day of its lease two years from now. And with so much more info yet to come to light, let alone what the Cayenne coupe actually looks like when it is released as a 2027 model, that is another major consideration. Might be very happy when all is known in leasing a replacement Macan at the end of our current lease.

I would like to but not until a few years from now. No more first generation vehicles, I made an exception with the Macan because I've been wanting an EV for a very long time and none have been appealing until this one but there's a few things about the Macan I don't like and since Cayenne is their luxury SUV, hopefully will be better.

Good point about appropriate reservations for first year(s) of a new vehicle. Both J.D. Power and Consumers Reports (parphrasing here) say “to exercise caution in getting a new vehicle even if it is a Rolls Royce.”

I feel sorry for so many Taycan owners, some of who are still suffering years later, for far too many fellow Macan EV owners who likewise have had major issues — some still enduring them. Heck my wife and I feel fine with our Macan EV time and even though we have had it just 4 1/2 month with seven weeks of that time it having been at the dealership with several major repeat software issues as well as necessary two hardware replacements. Finally not a week goes buy that we do not have multiple mini software issues that, thankfully so far, fix themselves after a little while. But it is overall such a fun vehicle that overall we are enjoying our ownership of it.

Nonetheless, we might get a second year Cayenne EV. Might???

Lots of info 108kwh net 600km WLTP less the 3 sec to 100
Yes - same car was at Brooklands Festival of Speed a few weeks back with much video content (no details) and I think posted on Porsche's own site.

Remains to be seen how many will shell out ÂŁ140K (UK), assume without 'extras', for this. Models < ÂŁ100K will fair better but on the basis that there will continue to be other Cayenne choices (including a facelift next year) the market for this is at best muddled IMHO. Range continues to be lacking unfortunately.

This video has all the nuggets … including charging test, what a beast and feel a bit disappointed by the curve / power in the Macan … If I would switch, probably to iX3 …

I really like the Cayenne EV’s fake sound track (no sarcasm). If is IMO a massive improvement over the Taycan’;s cross between a spaceship and a vacuum cleaner and a nice improvement over the Macan’s.

I think as it stands exterior silhouette and light arrangement front and back look better on the Macan vs Cayenne, but maybe when camouflage is off I’ll change my mind. On interior I like that hvac vents are higher up on the dash vs Macan, but an additional screen for hvac controls seems like a step back like last gen Audis.

Agreed, that the Macan’s so-readily accessible center console way of controlling HVAC and more is excellent. Do not know need to even look for making most of the adjustments there, the volume knob being where my fingertips touch without even touching the screen itself, and more works exactly as we wish.

Pretty funny when the "Coupe" version of the car drove past at around 8:11 of the video :CWL:
