Went to test drive a turbo today since the dealer is right across from where I work. I realize that the normal mode was relatively comfortable. Sport mode was pretty acceptable compared to my current car (model s plaid; almost always in comfort). Sport plus was another beast, much stiffer and responsive.

How does the GTS Suspension compare? Would normal still feel the same and sport/+ custom dialed for GTS. Im hoping normal doesnt feel like sport mode in a GTS.

Insights please.

I tested a GTS and found the 'normal' a good bit firmer, which meant feeling bumps/potholes on UK roads - a much less desirable drive for casual driving. On the other hand, the 4 and 4S I drove, felt "much" nicer on the exact same roads, and I knew instantly which one would suit us most of the time - our 4S is due early June!

22" rims I bet which is the likely problem as pretty much all UK cars since Feb have had these fitted.

The standard rim size will be the sweet spot and the reviews I've read have been complimentary.

Overall the GTS has a sports tuned air suspension set up.

On the Taycan I went from a 4S to a GTS on 21" and the ride was just sublime.

Yes indeed, however all three cars had 22" rims, so I conclude the GTS does have a stiffer suspension setup - even though the reviews cover the ride in glory - it just was not my experience.

Did all three use the same tires?

That should be expected - it's a GTS - typically part of the DNA along with 10mm lower ride height regardless of Porsche model chosen. The air suspension is described as having a Sports tune in the configurator so clearly different to regular air setup on other variants and therefore no surprise or revelation.

This rarely translates to a poor ride per se but that in part will be dependent on what you are used to or expectations in mind.

22" rims would be my last choice particularly for UK roads. Some dealers have new base Macan EVs with no air and 22" - ugh!

Try one with the standard setup and you might be surprised or a 4S with air and 22" rims abd be disappointed.

There's a combination there for everyone.
