I checked the Tesla app earlier today with the high speed charger filter on (button with 3 lightning bolts) to isolate Superchargers and as expected, I saw no options near San Francisco.

However, I checked a few minutes ago, and I see many options! I have the car set as "Porsche Macan Electric with NACS DC Adapter".

Before and after pictures below. I'll try to test this on my commute home from work tomorrow. I'm sure many will have already posted by then. :)

I will add: not only have 3 reasonably local Tesla charging sites shown up on my Tesla app for the first time today, clicking on a site includes the information "NACS Partner Site. Supported: Ford, Rivian, General Motors....Audi, Porsche."

Seeing compatible chargers between north Dayton and Toledo. End of most charging deserts for CCS is nigh. Huzzah!

It is true, Tesla Superchargers are now available to us. I was out so I went by and was able to use a Supercharger in downtown Palo Alto. I had to use the Tesla app to initiate charging as the charger did not start by plug and charge. Charging rate was 95 KW. I only charged for a few minutes since I was already at 70%. Also, the Superchargers now show up in the Porsche navigation system. Sweet.

Since I’m bored of pictures of adapters, here’s a picture of my charge test today in wind-swept Whistler.

It’s a new charger, I was already at 80, just checking basic operation before a jaunt to Tofino tomorrow. Worked at second attempt. Not overly concerned about the rate, it is as the kids say, what it is.

Can also confirm that the Squamish charger at Pure Bread does not work, you have to go to the Commercial Way one instead, which is in an industrial wasteland bereft of quality cake outlets. Boo!

The thing is that you don’t actually want to use the supercharger network unless you have to, due to the slower rate. Treat it more like a backup.

Although it would be nice to compare V3 to V4 on the Macan and see how that goes.

Used the Porsche adapter for the first time to try out a nearby Tesla charging station. The Site had 8 Version 4 stalls advertised as "up to 325 KW". 6 stalls were available. Used the Tesla app to initiate charging. (plug and charge does not work) Car was at 35%, outside and battery temperature were both 75 degrees. The charge rate was 24KW! Gave up after 12 minutes with less than 5KW added. Hope this is not typical.

I never did see an email from Porsche with a tracking number for my adapter, but I found it on my doorstep Saturday.

I went to the Tesla V3 supercharger near downtown Charlotte, NC, on Sunday afternoon, just to test it. The site did appear in the Porsche nav when I filtered to nearby chargers.

The battery wasn't quite up to optimal temperature when I arrived, but charging quickly ramped up to 133kW and held there for the few minutes I was plugged in, from 47% to 56% SOC.

the difference between an optimal 350 kW (270 kW max) charging session vs. an optimal 150 kW charging session is 8 minutes or less

in practice less than 6 minutes…from 10% to 80%

due to the charging taper curve you only potentially benefit from > 150 kW until about 50% SOC on the battery - after the taper curve reaches 150 kW (or less) all charging is equal

once I'm off the road and out of the driver's seat 5-8 min rarely harshes my buzz - and you can easily lose 5-8 min fussing around with unreliable or problematic "fast chargers" or simply congestion given the typically low stall count…

go to the best charger that is most likely to yield a successful charge session the first time you plug in - because if it doesn't work the first time - you've already lost your time advantage…

see below for an actual real world 150 kW charging session from 10% to 80% - in 26 minutes - best case would've been 21 minutes according to Porsche - but you rarely achieve that…a reliable and functional 150 kW charging session is not that much slower than a mythical 350 kW charging session - and even if/when you get 270 kW the best case is you save 5-6 minutes…I've spent longer than that waiting to turn left sometimes across traffic to get to the "faster" charging site…ROFL

factor in the actual probability of getting an optimal 270 kW charging session and not having to move your car to another stall after backing in or sitting on hold with customer support to activate the session - and it's really a crap shoot…

use what ever charger is best along your route - but I would not avoid a ideal supercharger location with open stalls because it's theoretically slower - I and wouldn't drive father or to a more awkward charging location because it's faster…I pick the charger that is most likely to actually function and function well…

the margin is 8 minutes or less benefit - so spend your time wisely.

picture below was an actual charging session in Aptos, CA - EA site, 150 kW station - there are no 350 kW stations at that site - NOTE: the actual charge time of 26 minutes vs. Porsche's published ideal of 21-22 minutes for an optimal session 10% - 80%
