I think that selling a premium car with so called ACC which does not have start / stop adaptability etc is bordering on mis-selling. Then to not make the ‘option’ available on a say £ 60k+ car so to push you into a higher grade is definitely sharp practise.
Without going down the Chinese car ……… my wife’s £ 25k small Toyota has the same capabilities as ‘Innodrive’ aka ‘drive assist’.

And the Audi Q4 Premium Plus that I just got out of also has the same capabilities…

I’m betting that an ACC-optioned car already has the necessary hardware. Porsche put the resources into developing FoD, makes no sense to me why they would dump it after executing it on one niche model for only like 2.3785 model years. :mad:

I read that BMW introduced FoD as they realised a lot of their cars were ordered by companies and leasing companies. The fleet managers tend not to order what they perceive to be expensive options which don’t do much on the residuals, especially as they tend to resell to auctions.

By introducing even heated steering wheels as FoD meant they could earn out of the resell market at very little additional cost as most hardware is fitted to streamline manufacture.

I suspect Porsche thought their market is different as even if it’s a company buy the fleet manage doesn’t have the last word on senior staff’s car !
