Winter wheels and tyres - 20" - https://www.suncoastparts.com/produ...-5BnH438ntr1BYMnpVjCWo-tOX-j2mngg3Acf0n0ypK-d

Main difference between the GTS and Turbo (or 4S or below) in terms of suspension is the lower ride height (by 10 mm) - the rest is invariably Porsche marketing hype but only a test drive will confirm...

Further to this I just called Suncoast and navigated to the GTSEV section and there are no 20 inch wheels there. after speaking with the rep he said that is what is approved by Porsche

Thanks for the info however, I don’t think that those 20 inch wheels will fit on the GTS when I asked the dealership about it. They said 20 inch wheels will not fit, but they did not really explain why. I may look into it further but so far, I’ve not got confirmation from the dealer on if that’s possible.

Often, the reason that the smaller wheels are not compatible with faster the models in a range is due to the latter having larger brakes, hence there is insufficient clearance for the caliper with a smaller wheel.

In the UK market, the 4S has 375 x 36mm ventilated discs at the front whereas the GTS is equipped with discs that measure 400 x 38mm. Therefore, the 1" larger discs mean that the calipers sit further away from the hub, which therefore probably explains the non-compatibility with the 20" wheel.

This is a picture of the 22" rim on the GTS. Sadly, it's not a very good angle but it doesn't look like there is much clearance!

Porsche Tequipment site lists 7 21" and 22" options (UK) for winter.

Brakes and calipers are the same on the GTS and Turbo.

I do not think you can get 20” wheels for a GTS at least in Canada. I was told that is because the GTS does not support that size. I would be curious if other countries have 20” as an option as that would raise new questions for me about what I was told. In any case this is an SUV with a normal setting and I am going to trust that the 22” spyder rims will be fine. If anyone already has a or will soon get a GTS with 22” rims I would love to hear your feedback. My freeze date is still a ways off so I could always scale down to 21” if I wanted to.In fact anyone with a Turbo driving on 22” in sport mode can comment as well as I don’t think the sport tuned suspension in the GTS in normal will be that much different than a turbo in sport mode.. but I guess we will soon see
The ride height on the GTS is only different in normal mode.

The ride height in the other modes is the same.

Yep, also noticed that only 21" wheels are available for the GTS.
There is a dedicated Porsche website in Belgium: https://www.porsche-winter.be/

It is possible to order the standard painted 21" wheels BTW:

Says "on-demand price" => means expensive I guess.

I quite like the Macan Turbo wheels as well - "reasonable" option would be to select these and swap summer/winter tires. I usually keep 2 sets of wheels but that's an option, and the cheapest one.

I have booked an appointment to order the car next week Friday (Friday 13th ;-)) - gives me some time to finalize the config. I have asked to test drive a Macan with air suspension and 22" wheels.

Thanks for all the input on my config - lots of useful points and definitely food for thought.

I have checked with suncoast. If you navigate to the suncoast GTS section there are no 20" options available. I called them and they said if it is not in that section then they does sell them for that trim. The GTS section on the Suncoast site matches the Porsche configurator options. Also, since the first GTS is 2026 the red highlighted statement still applies (i.e. no 20" options for GTS trim).

Yes that's correct. I thought that when I posted the link to the specific GTS options (21 & 22 only) clarified that.

Apologies if not.

Alright, tomorrow is the day for me.

First, a test drive in a Macan 4S with 22" wheels, and then order placement.

After much deliberation, I’ve changed my mind on the looks. This is highly subjective and I’m sure some might call me crazy, but I’ll go for an unconventional combo: Oak Green exterior with Truffle Brown interior. I saw a similar spec on Porsche Finder UK (same exterior look, but with GTS interior) and completely fell in love.

The “sport chic” vibe really appeals to me, and I like the idea of having something a bit less “in your face”. The reason I’m going for the GTS is clearly for the handling and driving experience.

Thanks again for all the valuable feedback - I’ve added insulated glass and the 3D surround view based on your suggestions.

Here is the build: PTZNMP50.

Car is now ordered ;-)

Yesterday I had the chance to test drive a Macan 4S, mainly to help me decide between 21" and 22" wheels. The test car was equipped with PASM suspension and 22" wheels.

Going in, I was already quite set on ordering a new car, but I had two “Plan B” scenarios in mind:
  • If I wasn’t convinced by the Macan overall (especially versus the driving pleasure of my current Taycan), I was ready to order a Taycan Sport Turismo.
  • If I was convinced by the Macan, the big remaining question was wheel size.
In the end: I ordered a Macan GTS with 22" wheels.

I drove the car on some pretty rough and damaged roads. You can clearly feel that the suspension is working hard to filter the bumps - it can be noisy and you do hear the impacts(felt sorry for the car). The tires obviously don’t help here. It reminded me a bit of the feeling I used to have with run-flat tires on BMWs.
That said, I actually found it very acceptable: the harshness doesn’t really travel into the cabin, and it never felt uncomfortable.

Driving-wise, I was genuinely impressed.

Body control is excellent despite the much higher ride height compared to a Taycan. Turn-in is a bit less sharp than my Taycan RWD (which is very light and agile at the front), but once in the corner the Macan holds its line extremely well. Traction is, as expected, very good.

One thing that really stood out: brake feel. Pedal feel is noticeably better than in my Taycan... firmer and more direct, without that initial slightly spongy step.

The test car did not have rear-axle steering, so I’m confident that the slight understeer I noticed will be reduced on my GTS.

Honestly, I expected to give up some cornering fun by moving to a Macan. After this drive, I’m convinced I’ll be very happy with the GTS.

Oak Green is a fantastic colour. It was on the test car we drove and my wife loved it…
but my budget only went so far :(

Great story and a great choice and a fellow Taycan owner. A couple of inputs in case your build is not locked and you are still open to making some changes.

Wheels: I understand that 22 is what you want but GTS exclusive 21 default wheels go well with the color combo and will certainly be more comfortable and quiet.

Exterior Mirrors: I cannot tell what the choice is from looking at the configurator or pictures. Top in Body Color and Bottom on Gloss Black or Entire mirror in Body color would be the looks to choose from.

Rear Model Designation: Consider removing for cleaner look.

Interior: Consider matching belts to Truffle Brown.

Interior Accent: Consider Silver Shade that gives subtle contrast to the Black Brushed Aluminum trim.

Systems: Drive Assist is unchecked as long as you know that you are not going to have Active Lane Keep.

I saw on in oak green the other day. It’s very cool and unique color without being too crazy. The brown interior will go great.

In a previous post I also mentioned in the new GTS the tyres felt they had a feel of run flat to them. Glad I am not the only person who noticed that. Presume it was fitted with the same Bridgestones that mine came with.
