I had the same issue with my previous EV. Lexus paid me the difference between home charging at (UK) Ā£ 0.07 / kw and public at Ā£ 0.85 / kwAhh, maybe newer models donāt have issues. Mine is first gen Macan 4 2024. I havenāt been able to charge at home since mid October. Thatās almost 3 months of inconvenience.
Currently I am having to drive to the dealership and charging at their infrastructure every week. Itās better than nothing, but itās a pain to have to drive there to charge, and I canāt precondition the car because there are no charging stations along the way that are higher than 50kw/h speeds. And because the battery is cold when I connect it, it takes extra long to charge and Iām having to spend like an hour at the dealership waiting for it to charge.I had the same issue with my previous EV. Weird, do you get a error message or something?Iām having the same issue on my 2025 Macan 4. Havenāt been able to charge at home since late November 2025.
The Porsche mobile charger makes a couple clicking noises then gives up, and PCM states ācharging not possibleā. According to the dealership they were able to charge the car there using my charger. Public charger does work but AC charging doesnāt work at all tried multiple chargers and houses nothing has worked. Recently I went back to Porsche stating Iām not able to charge and they finally sent two technicians to my house with another Macan, and we were able to charge their macan but my Macan didnāt work I think they finally believe me. Hopefully they can finally resolve this issue.Weird, do you get a error message or something?
And what if you try different AC/public chargers on low speed?
Here's the direct link to the Porsche document on the DOT site. https://dot.report/bulletins/11026360Would you mind pointing me to this document?
Two comments that may help.Currently I am having to drive to the dealership and charging at their infrastructure every week. Good to know, so even if it keeps recalculating the directions it will continue to precondition? I did try setting a Tesla charging station as the stopover, but the battery only went up by 1% by the time I got to the dealership. Like a 10 mins drive. The charging station used for pre-conditioning doesn't need to be on the way to the dealer. Set any location (EA, Tesla etc.) with DC fast charging, even if it is out of the way.
Hmmm this is a good idea actually. But only if the Macan that the dealership brought also had the same update applied to it. And itās the same model as yours, just so that youāre comparing apples to apples. The Porsche mobile charger makes a couple clicking noises then gives up, and PCM states ācharging not possibleā.
