Ahh, maybe newer models don’t have issues. Mine is first gen Macan 4 2024. I haven’t been able to charge at home since mid October. That’s almost 3 months of inconvenience.

I had the same issue with my previous EV. Lexus paid me the difference between home charging at (UK) £ 0.07 / kw and public at £ 0.85 / kw

Currently I am having to drive to the dealership and charging at their infrastructure every week. It’s better than nothing, but it’s a pain to have to drive there to charge, and I can’t precondition the car because there are no charging stations along the way that are higher than 50kw/h speeds. And because the battery is cold when I connect it, it takes extra long to charge and I’m having to spend like an hour at the dealership waiting for it to charge.

I’m having the same issue on my 2025 Macan 4. Haven’t been able to charge at home since late November 2025.

Weird, do you get a error message or something?
And what if you try different AC/public chargers on low speed?

The Porsche mobile charger makes a couple clicking noises then gives up, and PCM states ā€œcharging not possibleā€. According to the dealership they were able to charge the car there using my charger. Public charger does work but AC charging doesn’t work at all tried multiple chargers and houses nothing has worked. Recently I went back to Porsche stating I’m not able to charge and they finally sent two technicians to my house with another Macan, and we were able to charge their macan but my Macan didn’t work I think they finally believe me. Hopefully they can finally resolve this issue.

I haven’t tried that but when the Porsche technicians came they were going through the settings for charging in PCM so I assume they have tried that.

Two comments that may help.
Elsewhere folks have said that if they switched to guest mode, the home charging works. Have you tried that?
If you have Sport Chrono, then you can switch to sport plus driving mode, which will also precondition the battery. But also the other folks suggestions of entering a charger that is nearby, but not on the route would also suffice.

The charging station used for pre-conditioning doesn't need to be on the way to the dealer. Set any location (EA, Tesla etc.) with DC fast charging, even if it is out of the way.
Good to know, so even if it keeps recalculating the directions it will continue to precondition? I did try setting a Tesla charging station as the stopover, but the battery only went up by 1% by the time I got to the dealership. Like a 10 mins drive.

Hmmm this is a good idea actually. But only if the Macan that the dealership brought also had the same update applied to it. And it’s the same model as yours, just so that you’re comparing apples to apples.

I took my charger and car to 3 other people’s houses and it charges at their homes. It charges at the dealership as well, it just won’t charge at my house. Electrician checked wiring and connections and everything is fine except my line to line voltage was high. I got the hydro provider to come check and they installed a transformer to lower the voltage. Now it’s at 240.2V line to line, so it’s a very small difference but the car still won’t initiate charging. I even tried with a different mobile charger (Grizzle - loaner from dealership) at my house, and that also fails.

I have a ticket with Porsche Canada and they’re now actually actively trying to do something about it. before I started the ticket, they didn’t have a next step for me or have any answers except for wait for another update. It is so frustrating.
