MY26 software update (week 36) for MY24-25

Back to the software update topic, I picked up my 4S from service today where 5 recalls were addressed in 1-1/2 days including the VR28.13 software update, luggage compartment cover replacement, front passenger seatbelt slider replacement, and reversing camera replacement (see repair notes below).

Hopefully the software update permanently fixes the frequent Assistance Systems Limited warnings I received. I preferred the leather cover over the seatbelt buckle that I previously purchased to prevent rattling rather than the cheesy seatbelt loop that was installed (see photo below). I can’t tell yet if the reversing camera replacement has improved the view since I really hated the fish-eye distortion which always makes it look like I’m about to hit other cars when I’m nowhere close to doing so.

I suggest someone starts a new thread related to battery preconditioning since there seems to be a lot of interest in that topic as well…

What exactly was the problem with the luggage cover? I cannot detect any problematic issue with mine.
That seatbelt fix looks ugly, specially with colored seatbelts. I think I will decline it. My passenger seatbelt doesn’t rattle as long as the clip is raised.

I read somewhere that the luggage cover attachment clips could fail, however I never had any issues with mine and can’t see any difference.

Had I known what the passenger seatbelt clip replacement looked like then I would have rejected it as well since I was very happy with my aftermarket leather cover.

Had I known what the passenger seatbelt clip replacement looked like then I would have rejected it as well since I was very happy with my aftermarket leather cover.

It’s the pins that may fail in the future if you regularly remove and install the cover, it’s in the TSB.
What do you mean had you known there are probably over 30 pages discussing the loop and numerous pictures of it including TSB

I had this done last week. Only have had the car back few days now. Many of the errors and messages are not coming back (at least not yet). I am now getting a speed camera warning, and the speed limit detection system locks up at whatever the speed zone you were in last at the time of the fault.

I sat with the service tech and asked to see what version was prior and installed/upgraded to. They are not allowed to print or send screen shots, but I sat in their office, and they walked me down the modules one by one we checked for firmware and paramter changes.

I was disappointed that there were no (traditional and true) firmware updates as each module reported the same before and after firmware version. The only two things we could detect that would give rise to calling this a firmware upgrade is they pulled all the assistance features into their own software node/module and grouped them together compared to the Aug 2025 version of the software in my car. Service advised called it "created a new module" which he said was rare.

The other thing they did was change parameters inside many of the modules, but the firmware reported by the system for each was consistent with the prev Aug version - the only documented change was parameter modifications. Some modules had zero, many had 1, some had between 5 and 9.

I shared a chuckle with the service advisor that this was 'calibration' so the messages don't appear on the screen - I hope there was something deeper to this 'firmware' that I was not able to see in tools. I am also surprised that they are blocked from printing out and providing the service record of what was changed in the software.

I have noticed slight difference in the throttle programming, and the gage that sows regen vs power used (the one that's blue and green not sure what's it called). The difference is a less smooth power delivery at light throttle inputs, making it harder to feather the power. The gage seems to reflect this as before it was never a jumpy gage, and now I can see it jump without smooth transitions to different power levels. Its noticed, but manageable. I liked the way it was before this upgrade as it was really smooth blending power between coasting, slowing down, and speeding back up.

There are some other weird things like the driver seat moves back when I power down the car, and back into position when I enter - I have to hunt down that setting, I didn't have this easy access turned on before.

Overall, I don't know if this .13 upgrade fixed anything as I think it's been too little time. I thought I would share what i have observed so far. Hope you found something useful in my post.

Concerning the seatbelts solution the dealerships fix the problem as per Porsche instructions admittedly looks awful, especially when colored seatbelts are involved.
My car however came out from the factory mid September with the issue solved in a more professional and proper way. Looks way better IMO.

I've not had the update yet but something we've all been crying for was shown off today in an Autogefuhl video with the GTS model in Dubai.

• Max DC charging power in PCM & cluster display (along with a slightly updated layout)
• Correct colour & model of car shown in displays! (Actually, it's still wrong as it shows a Macan turbo in the first picture)

Can anyone with the update confirm this is NOT part of VR28.13? If so we can assume it will be coming at delivery of MY26.

I had this update done and confirm that none of what you see there is provided in the 28.13 update.

One thing that seems fixed is that when you press the parking button, it actually goes to park … anyone else has seen the issue of not going to park after the update?

I didn't have the issue before with Park specifically, but I did have issues going into drive from reverse, sometimes it would not register, and I had to be very deliberate about it and careful. I am keeping an eye on it as I'm not sure if it is an issue getting use to this style of gear shifter or software not picking up on the quick single impulse when it goes into drive.

I have it, I'm usually the one to find every little details that are wrong and I don't see it It works and honestly it's hard to tell it's even there, you don't notice it.

I did notice that this is the same solution on our VW Golf Wolfsburg... have to agree. Until I looked for it I did not realize.

Dropped off my Macan 4 for service today. Confirmed software update will be VR28.13. Cargo area cover to be replaced, and seat belt retainer clip added (I declined the seat belt clip scope.)

Received notification from the SA late Friday afternoon that the software update was completed but they wanted to hold it until Monday to see if there was any loss of battery % over that weekend timeframe, and other double-checks against my list of items I had at drop off last Wednesday.

The new software does not prevent the sudden and unexplained SoC % drop. My car has the update and it suddenly lost 4% while parked.

It also does not remove completely the white Assistance system unavailable warnings. I already had two after the update.

Seat - Comfort setting - will also move the steering wheel if you have electric adjustment. All to aid ingress and egress.

Thanks for posting the only acceptable solution, posted a picture of my VW about this many moons ago. Unfortunately some people are easily pleased and saying things like it doesn't look bad, works fine, etc. is what allowed Porsche to cheap out on 2024-2025 models by using this awful hack instead of replacing the 1 seatbelt with a VW/parts bin one.
