Towing enhancement (additional 500kg capacity to 2,500kg) can be retro fitted to prior model year vehicles.
Pulling this forward to find out more.

I've not seen anywhere about the new tongue weight for the updated towing specs - previously 200kg/440lbs (10% of the towing capacity)

I'm toying with looking at a small airstream - 16 or 20ft - that is within the weight limit, but has a tongue weight that is above 440lbs (eg the Airstream 20xe is over 500lbs). Would upgrading the tow package get me closer to being able to safely tow one of these?

I'm no towing expert but check the standard technical spec and you'll find

Indeed, but this data is incorrect, since the new towing package allows 2500kg now

Also the tongue weight is not in this document anyway.

An internet search doesn’t help as every Porsche dealer has posted the wrong towing data for the new GTS.

I’m in no rush, so I’ll wait until the data sheets are fixed

Is that not the noseweight of 100kg as per the image I posted above - GTS will be similar?

It seems the European Nose Weight is much lower than the US tongue weight. Presumably due to the difference in towing package construction - US does not have the hidden ball mechanism

In the US, the current weight is 200kg, for Europe it seems to be 80kg

And now I know that nose and tongue weights are the same thing!

Interesting but likely doesn't matter unless you transport gold bars in the frunk.

Never say never. Mercedes offered (200 GBP) dash cam functionality 3 years after GLE was released.
We need a 2026 Macan with working digital key to confirm.

If it works on 2026 but not 2025 (with comfort access/UWB option) it means either:
1) hardware is different (which h/w? best case scenario it's just the comfort access control module, easily swapped? but at what $$$$)
2) software is different (doubt it; makes zero sense)

I still have hope as:
1) I want it
2) can't think of what could be missing h/w wise

For example:
2025, Porsche Entry, ~950eur (No digital key)
2026, Comfort Access including Porsche Digital Key, ~1.200eur

Description is exactly the same for both options apart from the "Digital Key" part which costs an additional ~250eur (considering the functionality this is the most value for money option in the history of Porsche options, same price as the black paint on my 7 letter badge so I can read it from a distance more than 1m)

2025, Surround View incl. Active Parking Support, ~1.100eur
2026, Park Assist including 3D Surround View and Porsche Entry, ~2.800eur

Considering the massive price difference and very long list of extra features like trained parking, reverse assist, maneuvering assistant, kerb warning system, emergency braking function, etc. it is 100% obvious there is different hardware involved and I am happy not to have this as I understand the price difference and limitations of my hardware (cameras are pretty much unusable, never seen this poor quality video image, Porsche should have ordered from aliexpress/temu /shein, probably better quality)

Harsh, but yes. My 2018 Mercedes E-class had better 360 camera (front and rear as well) than Porsche. Felt like money down the drain *almost*.

3D Surround view included comfort access. Price difference is around 400 GBP. Would be surprised if they would use two sets of camera systems but who knows.

One way to tell is to review the Owner’s Manual of the 2026 Macan. For that you will need to search the Porsche’s manuals with a 2026 vehicle’s VIN number. I had my VIN number assigned and available in the My Porsche app just before they started production.
Once the right Owner’s Manual is selected, check Chapter Overview > Technical Data > Radio equipment. If additional hardware is required for the Digital Key, it should be listed there.

There is no hardware difference. A UWB key is a UWB key whether it's a phone or a fob. The software is different. 2024-25 models don't have the digital key feature configured, but that's fixable.

The real problem is that Porsche is being Porsche and charging extra for the feature, which requires server-side activation and so has to be turned on or off for specific cars. There is no way for them (with present software) to charge existing customers with a post-sale option, and if they offered it for free to 24-25 models, then the rationale for charging for it in 26 evaporates.

So either they need to decide to make it a free/standard feature in the future or they need to build a "store" to charge the $300 or $400 or whatever.
