Leather package in black - thoughts?

To start, I would say that I generally loathe all-black interiors, likely from my top-down Boxster days, so I’ve been looking for Macans with black/beige interiors (chalk seems too light). However, I’ve also been looking for frozen blue Macans, and they seem to almost exclusively come with black interiors.

I saw a standard black interior at the dealer, and was put off by the dash texture, but the leather package in black seems to fix that. For those with all-black interiors, do you feel it gets too hot in the summer? Should I hold out for black/beige?

I have the Black/Chalk interior, and it looks like this. This is the first car I've bought without a full black interior, and with a professionally applied interior ceramic coating, it has not been a problem to keep clean at all.

This what I spec’d for my car. 18 way seats with heat and cooling. Full leather package in Chalk-beige with black seat centers. The pure chalk color is to white for me. Anyway this reverse tuxedo looks classy to me and not as dark or boring (my opinion) as all black and it blends well with the rest of the cabin as the center console, doors and dash already have both light and dark parts. The interior feels light but not too bright and feels more custom and unique.

I went with Aventerine Green + black/beige. I added the option to cover the center surround so I would not see hard black plastic, it has cool stitching and the interior feels more premium. I like it fine so far.

I considered Frozen Blue. I also am not an all-black interior guy, but with that color blue I would have gone all black because powder blue Porsches with black interiors is a classic look. Back in the 70’s, the first 911 turbo whale-tail I ever saw was that combo.

Chalk isn’t bright white, there is a bit of gray in it. I had the chalk/black in my Taycan and ordered it again in my Macan Turbo order. I will attach the Taycan pics, but I wouldn’t avoid one that you like due to the chalk interior.

Please post a photo of that interior when you get it. I speced black/beige and went back / forth on whether to get black seat centers. In the end I didn’t, but still think about it.

Went with all black due to the kids.
No issues with heat in summer but I also have the insulated glass. In fact from all my cars it is probably the one that stays the coolest in summer. Also you can pre cool the cabin from the App and you can spec seat cooling. Heat would be my least concern regarding the colour choice.

went all black extended leather. volcano grey so was best match imho. hot-ish summer days across our locations uk and europe hasnt been an issue (so far). the non extended leather in test drives we did, made for less than nice interior feel and seemed more audi q6 level trim (came from etron 55 so that level was actually a decent bench mark interior wise). money well spent. ext leather makes cabin much more premium and well worth it. 14 way seat with massage and cooling great also.

I went for extended leather in black. Wanted deviated stitching but felt money was better spent elsewhere.

Doesn't look dull, just classy.

I settled on all black leather because I wanted the massage option and I wear denim 90% of the time and was concerned about color transfer. I would have preferred a contrasting color (love Shawn's interior) but that wasn't possible given my priorities.

We haven't hit peak summer temperatures here yet but I didn't have any real issues last summer. The interior can get quite hot when the car is parked in direct sunlight with the windows and sunroof closed, but you can mitigate that by turning on the air conditioning remotely a couple of minutes before you return to the car. I should also mention that I have the dual-layer glass with improved sound and thermal insulation.

There are ways to add color to an all black interior, including the three different interior door+ metal trim colors, the ambient lighting (if you car has it), and colored seatbelts.

My CPO Macan EV is black, black,, and black and I wish it had some of those color differentiations.
