Seems to be a popular interior color amongst the pre-owneds I’m looking at. It looks great new, but how quickly does it get dingy/how well does it clean up?

Need to make a decision soon, so any empirical advice is appreciated.

I am a Chalk only interior person and have 2 cars with Chalk and 1 Pebble (that is even brighter) with it and now ordered 4th with Chalk/Black.

I have Taycan in a Chalk leather at almost 3 years and 25k miles and it is looking new. I mostly wear jeans and you have to be careful not to scrub the bolsters but the leather does not pick up any blue from the jeans (well you have to have high quality kind).

I have Cayenne in Chalk interior and that one is 6 years and 60k miles and while I have thermal glass and my front windows are tinted, any direct sun through the windshield UV exposure changes the hue a little but not noticeable unless you are looking at them in certain conditions with morning sun lighting. The hue of the seats becomes a little different from the door pieces but they are made out of different materials so that to be expected.

Also, big misconception that light colored belts get dirty, well, have you seen them, they are made out of silk type material that is impossible to get dirty unless you do it on purpose and even then easily cleaned. So I always option seat belts to match the light color of the seats. Happy to take pictures during daylight.

Macan leather I would expect to be comparable to Taycan but lower quality than older Cayenne or Macan ICE. Older leather is very thick and seats are very chunky vs. Macan EV leather.

I am not sure why most think Black interior is better. Any time I have seen one, I did not like it, as it always looks dirty and wear showing much quicker.

Found my Cayenne picture. Why someone would go Black when you could have this gorgeous dual tone Chalk and Graphite Blue with dual stitching for just a fraction more. Anyone who gets in, comments that they have not seen an interior that looks and feels that good.

Here is another shocker to most, Pebble. I can tell you it looks 10x better than anything Black. Anyone gets in, comments how stunning it looks and feels. Still brand new after 2 years and 20k miles with matching Pebble Belts.

it has not been horrible on our 2021 Cayenne - but yeah it requires the occasional deeper clean - bigger problem is not "clean" so much as blue jeans rubbing off - but it cleans up…

After years of black leather I now have light colored leather seats on two cars and love the look. It seems to stay cleaner than black, especially if you have kids or guests using tons of sunscreen. The white sunscreen seems to blend into light colors but stands out on black. I've heard that some blue jeans can leave a mark, but I'm wearing jeans 80% of the time and have not noticed it, one car with near 50,000 miles on the clock.

I wouldn't worry about maintenance. I would guess a spill may make a stain you wouldn't notice on a dark seat, but now days most leather seats have a protective plastic coating.

We normally choose a dark interior, but the Macan we found in stock closest to what we wanted had the chalk interior. It does look really nice. 20,000 miles in so far and no problem at all. (But we're 2 seniors, not a family with kids.)

Ive had many chalk interiors and always managed to keep them looking great after many years. Although in the GTS ive got on order i switched it up with black seat centres. It might help but its mainly an aesthetic choice.

I’d have loved a Chalk interior after I saw it a couple times. Most of the CPOs I saw though had black interiors and having a 7 year old made black a much more practical choice.

That Cayenne interior combo is incredible.

I had the Chalk/Black seats on my ‘23 Taycan CT 4S, had a small bit of jean transfer when I traded it in about 2 1/2 years later, cleaned off easily. I currently have the chalk/black seats on my Turbo order too, they look good and I am sick of black interiors. No concerns about care, leather doesn’t need a ton extra, just some cleaner/conditioner occasionally. I usually have at least one of my kids in the back seats, and still no issues.

I love the chalk. It makes the interior so much brighter. Then again, I wouldn't pick it back when the kids were 7 ...
My wife once spilled a bunch of fruit juice on the side of the seats; it did wipe off pretty easily.
