had to set time zone to alaska +9 to get correct time!

Yes, same for me here in Southern California. The Time Zone was set to adjust automatically and correctly indicated Pacific Standard Time, but the actual time was off by one hour.

Maybe Porsche hasn’t kept up with when the DST change happens, the rules change occasionally.

When I got in the car this morning, it was still on EDT. I drove about 20 miles, parked and locked for about 10 minutes. When I got back in, it had correctly set itself to EST.

I took two drives today where the car was parked outside with a clear view of the sky, a good cell signal and downtime of over an hour. The car still hasn’t adjusted to Standard Time. I will wait and see if this corrects itself over the next couple of days.

In the UK’s / my case, I think they may have used the wrong week as it rectified itself over Sunday night !

yah, mine never updated automatically yesterday....after about two drives...i just changed it myself

This happened in the spring. There are a few different ways the car gets it time. Thankfully the CarPlay part get its from your iPhone. The main PCM gets it via GPS and you have to drive around a while to pick up the new time.

GPS doesn't have a concept of DST, it always uses UTC as a reference. I'm not sure whether the car uses the time from GPS or the cellular network as the time source. I suspect it's the latter, since that would (or should) have the locally applicable DST rules applied.

My car made the change from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time in the spring correctly, but hasn't made the switch back (yet).

I noticed that my car had changed back to Standard Time (EST) on Sunday afternoon, but I only noticed the time after I was leaving a place I had driven to a couple of hours earlier.

I suspect it is somewhat indeterminate when the car's built-in PCM updates its timezone. While driving across the U.S. this past summer. I noticed that crossing from Eastern time to Central time wasn't reflected for almost a day. Driving from Central to Mountain time a couple of days later, the timezone updated well within an hour. Then, a week later, when I was going back from Mountain to Central time, I noticed that the car updated its timezone almost instantaneously, even before my iPhone did.

I would have thought that it's based on which cell tower the car is connected to, but that doesn't explain the time it took a whole day to update. (I had started the day in central Indiana, but I ended the day in Kansas City, far within Central time.)

this is not true - i drove around all day yesterday - no change - this morning it’s all good - after overnight in my garage with no signal

My car updated to standard time without any issues and while sitting in the garage. However, I do have good cellphone coverage and the car is also connected to my home WiFi. Maybe that made a difference?
