We figured out how to get them out (just pull), but how do you get them back in?
there is a button beside the headrest, you would need to feel it with your fingers. Just need to press it and it will release the locking

Thanks. It's obvious now when I actually look for it. We were just feeling around for anything while driving yesterday and couldn't feel it.

Since this thread popped back up I’m just noticing a difference in the way the color wraps around the seat more on the comfort, but has a black shell on the sport. Now I want to go into the 3d configuration and get a better look from behind!

I like the 14-way seats just fine, except for where they sit in the car (not just the 14's of course). They sit quite a bit further from the edge of the door opening than we're used to. Makes it more of a challenge to get in/out. Got to swing our legs further out instead of stepping straight down like our other vehicles. It's probably only a few extra inches but it makes a noticeable difference.

Some vehicles are big on the inside relative to the outside dimensions (like our Mach-E, and the Lucid Gravity we have on order), but this car is the opposite. I'm surprised how small the cargo space is (rear, frunk, and even the glove compartment... all much smaller than our Mach-E) even though it's actually slightly bigger on the outside.

But we didn't buy it for the cargo space.

Has anyone compared the 18-way Sports seats with the 14-way Comfort seats from the rear passenger’s perspective?

I find that the 18-ways have quite a large footprint at the back, and it can make rear passengers feel a bit more cut off or disconnected. I’ve only had one brief ride in the rear with the 14-ways, so I can’t really judge, but from photos it looks like they have a slimmer silhouette.

For anyone who’s spent time in the back of both, is the difference actually noticeable in practice?

This is only based on my feeling, but the 14-way seat is much less comfortable in the Macan than in the Cayenne. 18-way is the way to go in the Macan with full leather for more seating comfort. Might be different with full leather in the 14-way seat, haven't tried.

EDIT: Keep in mind that you do get more rear space when you choose the 18-way seat in comparison to the other one. They are more curved in the back so it is a bit more "airy" for the whole seating compartment in the rear.

Thanks, that’s a really good point. I hadn’t thought about it in terms of the backrest shaping — I can see how the 18-ways could give a bit more knee clearance with that extra curve.

What I was really referring to with the “footprint” comment was more about the side bolsters and overall bulk of the seat when you look at it from behind. To me, the 18-ways seem to take up more visual space across the cabin, which can make the rear feel a bit more enclosed, even if the actual legroom is slightly better.

So maybe it’s a case of the 18-ways being more “airy” in terms of knees, but more “imposing” in terms of silhouette.

I went with the comfort seats because while I like the bolstering in the sport, I couldn’t get comfortable because the headrest was not adjustable, and this is a road trip car so kind of important.

I didn’t notice much difference in terms of overall shape. I don’t have a good photo comparing the backs but you can see the actual seat bottoms are identical, and only minor differences in shoulders. There is slightly more concavity to the sport seats but not sure that translates into a different seat back.

To be clear these are US spec 14 way comfort on the left, 18 way sport on the right.

IMO, the bolstering really isn't that much different between the two, even compared to the sport seats plus in my 992, given my average sized frame. I've found that once I adjusted the side bolstering on the sport 18 seats to my liking, it is about at the same level of bolstering as how the comfort 14 come as is, so the added bolstering of the sport 18 for me was not needed. What I really like about the comfort 14 seats in the Macan EV is the massage function (it's quite good compared to the nearly useless massage in wife's X5) and the telescoping headrest is nice and in my opinion very effective for dialing-in long term comfort. I tried them both on extensive test drives before deciding on the comfort 14, so I suggest you do the same - we all have different body types and will feel differently about each seat type.

Has anyone here compared the massage function in the Macan versus the BMW iX?
Better than the iX as it has more air cushions, 10 I think? vs just 3 in the iX. Not as good as iD7 as they also have 2 air cushions in the seat base to massage your peaches.

It is underwhelming compared to chinese cars with the rotating ball type of massage (e.g. Polestar 3, EX90) which are DIVINE and you would purposely go and sit in the car just for a massage.

The Macan massage is still an improvement in comfort vs not having it though, and on the motorway you will want to keep turning it back on when the massage program finishes.
