I recently visited a dealer to view a Macan electric with my wife, and she found the 14-way seats 'pinched' too tight around the thigh/hip area putting pressure on her back (she suffers with back troubles). We didn't get a chance to test any of the other seats, however, the sales guy suggested the GTS, as that has race-tex seats, which might help - he said "softer than the leather options". That wasn't really what I wanted to hear.

I'm not sure, but this has put a big spanner in the works, misses very unsure that she'll be able to get comfortable 🤔!

However, reading the other comments above, there is no way I'm having a car like this without memory seats... not available on the standard 8-way, really?
Salesman sniffs a bigger bonus and no logic to his advice!

Did you experiment with all the adjustments - most odd not to find a comfortable setting to be honest?

Alcantara / Racetex is not ideal and harder to maintain IMHO.

I think the comfort seats (either) are the same as per the Macan ICE so why not try that where you should be able to try all combinations including Racetex (GTS model - many folk choose to upgrade to leather though).

I went with the 14 way because you can equip them with massage.
Same, wanted 18-way for superior looks and so much nicer to sit in but unfortunately no massage so had to go 14-way. Another plus of the 14-way is that they are more accommodating to the rear passengers as the space is already very tight in the back.

Ah yeah, my plan is to go for a proper try, and get an extended test drive and give the comfort seats a good try.

Just specifying a Macan 4 for my wife and we are considering exactly this question... 8 way or 14 way. Not fussed about the electric steering column, never change it on my Taycan which has 18 way.
Similarly we don't fiddle with the passenger seat other than back and forward so no need for memory function on passenger side. So it just comes down to comfort. Unlike the Taycan the 8 and 14 way are the same shape and both have adjustable head rests. Not sure the lumbar and squab adjustment is worth £942? Maybe spend that on something else....

Those of you with 8 way have you regretted not going for 14 or 18 way?

Are you saying the 14-way provide more rear knee room because the seatback is thinner or are you referring to the larger shoulder area of the 18-way?

I’ve not noticed any difference in the leg/knee room between the two. But I’ve found the larger shoulder area on the 18-way seats, does reduce visibility for the rear-seat passengers.

I went 8-way with my wife's Macan T (ICE) with Driver Memory. Worked out well as only the seat is ever repositioned.

We had a new 4S Macan EV on loan over the weekend (Cayenne S EV previous weekend so in decision mode!) which had 18-way. Comfort wise both felt similar and once the seat and wheel were adjusted that was it.

Spend the money on something else such as surround cameras - demo car just had rear camera which these days is pretty poor for a premium vehicle.

Car also had steel suspension with PASM (no air) and compared to our T with air suspension was every bit as comfortable (20" rims) - an eye opener really.

Hi Adrian
Many thanks, very helpful.

We had a Macan 4S EV as a loaner when the Taycan was in for its first service a couple of weeks ago, it also only had a reversing camera but did have air suspension with 22" alloys. Last Friday we borrowed a Macan 4S which had surround view steel suspension and 22" alloys. The steel suspension was noticeably harsher than air.

I was honestly as surprised as you are that wheel size seems to make a much bigger difference to comfort than the air suspension.

If comfort is the priority, I’d definitely stick with the smaller rims.

That said, I absolutely love my 22s, so I’ll happily sacrifice a bit of comfort for the looks 😂

If you haven’t already, try the GT steering wheel. I found it noticeably better than the standard wheel. That said, some people find it blocks part of the instrument display, so I’d definitely check it out in person first.
Thanks, we have tried both and my wife preferred the standard wheel for that very reason. She agrees the GT looks and feels better but didn't like not being able to see the "Hold" light come on.

With seat and steering wheel adjustments, I see instrument dials clearly through the GT steering wheel. I'm 5'10", but I understand there can be issues for taller people.
Besides, I have HUD, and intuitively see "Hold" in HUD when eyes are already on the windscreen.

Yeah 22" will do that. On the Cayenne EV (air is standard) with 22" the ride is sublime as the profile of the tyre is high rather than low. More rubber is the key. Not sure what the profile is on the Macan EV with the same size of rims.

Spec looks good and air is wise but non essential if PASM is added to the steel.

I would substitute the chrono clock for the compass (more useful), door mirror bottoms are black plastic from memory and I would typically go body colour, rear boot I'd always get the reversible mat (carpet on one side, and rubber mesh on the other which prevents anything sliding and has a rollable load protection cover that can drape over the bumper when loading stuff), and finally 3D parking for the kerbside monitoring alone.

Appreciate that you've opted for the lux package but I'd query the Electric Sports Sound (it's awful), rear seat heating (will you use it, front heating is standard) and heated windscreen (you have cabin preheat as standard). Might save some pennies if adding sunroof, comfort access and Sports Chrono. I could ramble on and query SC on a 4 given you have the drive mode wheel anyway.

Thanks, I've played around deleting the Lux Pack and adding back essential components but it doesn't save anything meaningful so might as well go with the pack.

Reversible boot liner is a good call. On my two Taycans I got them to throw in a full set of all weather mats and boot liner as the final roll of the dice after negotiating the price.

I will probably wait until late November or December, when dealers will be looking at their quarter end numbers, to secure a deal. I usually work with 3 OPCs to see who has the sharpest pencil.

Nice one!

Haggle hard for tyre & wheel insurance and ceramic coating. GAP can be tricky and cheaper on line.

I was offered £5K off 2 different Cayenne EVs last week - end of quarter and MY26 (unregistered). So deals can be had for sure.
