Mine was 100% problem free for many months, after the update it has happened a few times, I have to exit car, lock, wait for the contractor for the HV battery to open, unlock, and then it works as if nothing has happened.
I blame Porsche for using crappy Android instead of paying for decent OS.
Unfortunately that’s not the only problem. Sometimes car throws up tons of errors including red, fix is the same as BOSE, it’s like driving a laptop with Windows Millenium installed.

Thank you for the insight. The feedback related to HV battery connector for reset is helpful for me to track/troubleshoot.

I have a theory that this is a communications issue, that the command to powerup the amp is being sent, but the amp misses the message. There is no logic to follows that 'confirms' the amp is powered up, and this it will not power up until the car reboots. My suggestion to the dealer was to ask the engineers to confirm how the system works, and to add a powerup retry 5 seconds after the first message (or more proper, software to check if its power on, if not send a new power on command, retry 5 times 1, 2, 4, 8 seconds apart. Record the attempt/fail.)

Currently, I'm told there is not a single entry in any log that records a failed power or power state mismatch. Which feels like bad coding also - when you're not using a lossless signal/message protocol, recording, and confirming messages and states is required.

Overall, this software 'feels like' a shit show under the covers. It seems the years of delays was warranted, but surprising after all that, this was still deem good enough. I'm not as forgiving to Porsche on these issues by assigning credit to Android for the them. I have a gas Macan too, and also owned an Audi Q7, and they had software issues and PCM startup problems also.

I hold them all accountable, but, I didn't buy a car from Google/Android - Porsche has to make it work, they own the issues.

Thankfully I leased this car, which is very rare for me, so if there is no stability in this system by the time the lease is up, it is likely to be my last VW group product.

With that, I hope that there is a solution, as I general enjoy this Macam EV, in many respects, and would really like to replace it with a better optioned version on lease end. I got this one off the lot as I was in a rush to replace my daily driver BMW (failed engine after 250k) not worth repair (still drove but burned oil at 1 liter per tank and was not safe to be driving behind me).

I am hopeful that someone out there has had this issue, and had it corrected.

Thanks again for your feedback.

I had a situation where all of my Bose speakers suddenly stopped working in my Macan 4 (MY2026). Not even the sound from the turn signals or the parking sensors worked. But after leaving the car turned off for an hour, it worked again.

That seems to be the way to fix it, and its seems to have widly proven to work.
I was hoping to get to the point where this was not happening.

Looking for someone who has had an action taken at the dealer / updates that have long term solved this.

Happened to us for the 2nd time just before a 2 hr road trip - tried PCM reset, lock / unlock waiting for just a few min in between. Stopped at a store for about 15 min near our destination - unlocked and it was fine. I think most EVs are basically where windows laptops were in the 90’s. As an aside out 2020 Kia Niro EV hasn’t had a single problem - but it’s a much more simple EV - genius perhaps?

My Burmester did this a few days ago as well, although it started by passenger side going dead before it went completely dead. Could not get it to return (did 10 PCM resets - and Burmester doesn't have same access to trunk plug), but fortunately I already had a service appointment for a laundry list of other issues, so I just added it to the list.

The car would bing/bong but would not play any audio from any source.
I had this and did a reset / sign out/sign in and it worked again, but there was a click through for authorizing terms of use (no alternative now that I have the vehicle!) that they made me go through that I think may have been new, so who knows what private info I’ve agreed to let them gather now . . . But it works!

I had it so many times with this car I'm no longer bother and don't schedule a service visit unless the problem is very persistent ;)

I'm getting the impression this issue is not widespread, or people are 'living with it'.

If it's not widespread, that means its fixable....

Hard to tell with the limited engagement in this topic.

I had this happen to me this morning driving to work. It’s happened a couple times since I got the car a month ago. I assume when I leave work later today it will work again.

For those of us newer to this forum, does the reset you’re talking about just mean rebooting the PCM? Is there another reset people are talking about?

Yes just a PCM reboot. Same thing happens on my Volvo XC 30 only more often on the Volvo

Hi, I have the latest (bad) firmware version, and this issue (lost all sounds) again. It has happened 3 times in 1.5 years, and unplugging the Bose amplifier power only fixed it once. I just need to exit the car, close everything and let it sit there a while. This is 100% a safety issue, as all sounds, including warnings on the dashboard, turn signals, blind spot warning etc. all disappear. I am surprised there has been a recall.

Proud Porsche owners unfortunately, will not voice their opinion and lap everything up once they spot the badge.
Wait until you drive one at highway speeds without screen/lights/indicators or anything and with the fear that everything will lock up and you'll be left stranded in the middle of a deadly situation. Ask me how I know. I did leave the passenger window open in case I needed to make a quick dash for safety.
What people don't realize is that in these cars almost everything is software driven, that simple light switch you used to press and would close the circuit then the lights would come on, now everything is software commands.
Dealer during update fried one of the hundred control units and the car had a meltdown, I was only left with basic functions, steering/braking/accelerating/etc. but having read lots of reports of Taycans suddenly dying at high speed the drive back to the dealer was unnerving to say the least. I pressed every button I could touch, nothing worked, including parking sensors/etc.
You are basically sitting in a computer with wheels, from outside it looks like the latest MacBook Pro but its running on Windows Me.
If 20 years ago my younger self had told me I would have to get out out of my 120K Porsche, lock it, wait for it for a substantial time in the rain/sun to go back to sleep, unlock it and get back in just to listen to the radio in the 2hr drive back I would have laughed and never believed it but here we are.
Shocking what is acceptable nowadays as quality, I bet Porsches 60 years ago had figured the radio out and did not have this issue. /rant

It's starting to sound like there are still issues, but people are not taking these issues to the dealers as the fix is 'time' and getting the concern duplicated seems impossible when the dealer is looking at the car. I have recorded video, and they still can't act on it. There are no logs entries for this condition.

This is a challenging car in a few ways. Hopefully the 'silence' of both the manufacture and the radio system still means that they are facing software and will eventually share it with us.
