Blind Spot Monitor Lights Abnormal

My 4 BSM lights on driver side mirror are not working as it should as on the passenger side. Those 3 square lights come on randomly, sometimes in pattern which is every 30 seconds even no cars in the blind spot and become annoying especially at night driving. I have it serviced twice at the dealer, but the problem came back. Now, is the 3rd visit hoping to resolve it this time. Anyone is experiencing same issue?

Yes, same as mine at night. I'm thinking to place an electrical tape just to cover the annoying on/off lights.

Maybe the problem isn't the lights, but the sensors that tell the car whether there's something in the blind spot?
Did the dealer specifically say that they serviced/replaced those sensors? If not, you should probably ask that they do.

Yes, I also mentioned those sensors on the rear side might need to be replaced. Now I am just waiting for them to contact me.

I have the same issue, its very annoying. Car was already in service once and the issue came back after two weeks. Anybody experience how to fix it?

Oh, for sure it's sensors and not just the lights - it blocks you from changing lane as it thinks there traffic on the other lane. I'm set for another go at this later this month but honestly I've lost faith these issues will be fixed.

Yes I’ve experienced the same exact issue and the dealer has looked at it multiple times with no solution.

Has anoyone here managed to solved this?

Mine 4S even after recalibration gives me false positives constantly while loaner that I got seems to have absolutely flawless detection.

Quick follow up on possible resolution to this problem. After many attempts to fix this the dealer is replacing my entire rear bumper. My Macan 4S is still at the body shop and I hope to get the vehicle back soon and will confirm whether or not this resolved the problem. As I understand it, the dealer tried everything to get the system to work right and the only thing that worked was swapping my bumper with a brand new one and when they did that it worked properly. They believe it has something to do with the paint thickness on my original bumper not being to spec. from the factory.

Thanks for sharing. Honestly that sounds quite odd to me. What were your symptoms?

Mine is triggered most of the time randomly without any corellation to what is around the car, but at the same time also detects real cars as it should.

I remember that original test drive car was not doing this and now this second loaner car just confirmed my suspicion that there must be something wrong with mine.

My symptoms were very similar to those expressed in this thread. The driver side blindspot monitor randomly went off when no cars were around and also went off when cars were coming towards me in their lane (I.e. oncoming traffic vs. behind me in the blind spot. I was able to video it behaving this way on my way to work. It seemed to activate in the same places for no reason and when I had loaner cars, they did not behave this way on the exact same route.

I agree completely with the paint thickness theory being odd, but that’s what the dealer is telling me at this point. They tried every combination of replacing sensors and software updates and for some reason that’s not 100% clear to anybody when they put a new bumper on my car the system acted normally and with my bumper it doesn’t.

Well I am looking, but I dont see anything being unavailable after selecting PTS. Blind spot monitor is part of basic equipment acording to EU configurator and I dont see anywhere mentioned that it is incompatible with PTS. Do you see something else?

Also if paint thinkness is really the culprit (I am not saying that it is not) we are talking about microns or milimiters of difference which radar should be able to either handle on its own or after some one time sensitivity adjustment by technician.

Same issue with my 4 since day one, (October 23, 2024). Been to dealer twice with regards to this matter but no resolution. Dealer told me that this BSM problem have been reported to Porsche Germany HQ, now 13 months ago. Going back there, dealer, next month for software update. Perhaps that this major update will fix it.
