I have owned 6 Porsches over the years, and I know what the "Porsche Experience" is supposed to be. My experience with my current Macan EV and Porsche Centre Vancouver has been, frankly, shocking. I traded my 2021 Taycan for the 2024 Macan EV, and have regretted ever doing so. The build/assembly quality of the Macan EV is appalling. After only ~3200km in this car, I started hearing rattles in multiple locations in the car.

I’ve brought the car back to Porsche Vancouver service department EIGHT (8) times, and they still have not been able to fix the rattles. Instead, there were poor workmanship, including returning the car to me with roof rubber seals ripped off and hanging inside the car (see attached). And another time, they broke and lost the cheap plastic clip on front passenger seatbelt (which stops the plastic seatbelt buckle from knocking against the plastic pillar - see attached), which made the rattles worse in the car.

Aside from the 6 Porsches, I’ve owned over 20 other cars in my lifetime, including Toyota, Honda, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, BMW, Mini. The build quality of this Macan EV is not worth the 120k cost. I’ve never had cheap "plastic-on-plastic" noises, even in non-luxury cars that I’ve owned. Porsche should be absolutely embarrassed for being a luxury brand.

And most disappointing, is the management team of Porsche Vancouver. Despite 8 failed service visits, and repeated back and forth trying to deal with sales about upgrading to a more expensive Porsche (so I can get rid of this lemon Macan; yes I’m willing to pay MORE for a better Porsche with better construction!!!), the sales managers refused to speak with me when I requested to talk to them. It is clear this dealership prioritizes profit over the satisfaction of repeat customers. They want me pay an exorbitant amount to change to another Porsche. Essentially pricing my previous Taycan trade-in at ridiculously low value. I suppose this shows how even Porsche themselves undervalue their own electric car. So how can consumers like me have confidence in their electric cars.

I expected Porsche quality, instead I got a lemon, and the Vancouver Porsche team are incompetent, and only care about their profits. Avoid this dealership, and certainly, avoid the Macan EV. Until they sort out the growing pains of this new model. So you can avoid simple assembly problems like rattling noise, and improper fitting door panels (see attached).

Sorry to read you have that many problems with it.
I on the other hand don't have any serious quality problems at all.

I Would suggest to take a lawyer and sent some serious letter to the dealership Vancouver that the car is "in default" and is not what you can expect from it and multiple service requests did not fix anything. In The Netherlands we have laws for this and although big companies are not reluctant to obey this law, as soon as official letters come in they will probably choose their battles wisely.

You don't have another official Porsche dealership around? For a second opinion, this always strengthen your case if they are able to confirm your issues.

For the rattle of the passenger seatbelt a "recall" was announced so you can get a fix for that. (they add a loophole of the seatbelt on the back to prevent this) The charge poort seems an alignment issues and not a big hustle to fix that. The panoramic roof rubber I have not seen anything like this before on the Macan but sure can be easily fixed as well.

Handing your Macan back with this rubber seal is a joke and very poor quality control from your dealer. Same for electric cover, how can factory Leipzig, destination hub USA and your dealer miss this. "SpaltmaĂźe" is a big thing in Germany. That being said, my Mercedes also needed adjustment and while doing so they created a subtle dent to the C-pillar. Don't think the build quality is worth overall as compared to current Porsche ICE. This hard plastic B-pillar (very poor) is also on new Cayenne ICE MY26. Macan ICE in direct comparison however feels better. In comparison to other EV, build quality is on par or better. Service went down at Mercedes deanships as well (damaging rims and not acknowledging despite photographic evidence, not able to fix suspension noise etc.), BMW/Mini was surprisingly good though. Workplace pride is a thing of the past. We fostered attention deficits, settled for lowest nominator and created an unnatural environment to ensure survival of the least fit.

Don't get me wrong, I had my fair share of problems (returned TWO Macan 4S, lemon law) and share your frustration of poor fault transparency (legal and ethical requirement in my profession). Can't comment on longterm quality obviously but your header seems a bit biased. The Macan EV is the best handling compact SUV and more importantly, most fun to drive (if you exclude Ioniq 5 N which is smaller).

To get such poor service (unbelievable the car could be returned with the roof rubber hanging down) did you sleep with the service mangers wife ?

Have you sent the photos to Porsche Customer Service ?

Is it possible a dealer to deliver back the car with hugging rubber like this??If so...Very bad dealership..It is strange that some of us having zero issues and other reporting so many.....🤔 Ok..I have a small rattle coming in the bad door speaker grill now on 7500km, but I will fix it on 12th of January, but also Athens roads are to be blamed!

what “bugs”? a warning (white / yellow) is not a “bug”. it shows that some systems (in most cases assistance systems) are temporarily not available porsche is overly sensitive due to security concerns. other manufacturers are not concerned at all. thats why people are dying in other cars.
