My car has been parked in the garage for about three weeks while we were on holiday. Mysteriously the battery drained overnight from ~85% to ~65% after about two and half weeks. Then down another 1% overnight earlier this week. I tried plugging into my home charger when we returned home, but it took three tries before it would start charging the battery. Yesterday I drove the car for the first time since we returned home and about three miles from home after leaving my garage I received the systems warning screen. It did not clear after multiple stops for lunch, shopping, car wash, etc... Time to deal with the dealership.

I have to say, the mysterious drop is very strange. Are you sure your app was refreshing properly during the same period? Also, was the vehicle set-up with departure times? Observing those and pre-conditioning the vehicle uses up energy.

Btw, when I leave on vacations I leave my EVs at about 50% charge. Battery is very happy at that charge level for very, very long periods.

I had the same issue for a few weeks and it just wouldn’t go away. I called the dealership and they basically brushed it off, saying it was “nothing special,” and made me wait two weeks.

After that, I called again and mentioned that my trunk button wasn’t working, and reminded them about the assistance symbol. They still said it was “nothing unusual,” but agreed to check the button at least.

When they finally looked at it, it turned out there were two faulty cameras/sensors in the back part of the car..

So yeah — lesson learned: don’t always take the dealership’s word for it unless they can clearly explain what’s going on.

I was refreshing the app often while away, and it continually showed no drainage until that one day. Then it held stable at the lower % for a week. No set-up times or any departure or environment pre-conditioning programmed. It is very strange.

Thanks for this... I will update when I report to the dealership.

They have no clue what is going on :) Servicing vehicles in warranty is 0 profit for them; don't expect them to be overcome with joy on those calls.

Agree. But there seem to be a lot of frustrated owners. The brand damage is going to reach a tipping point, at least for this category of vehicle, if they don't figure these annoyances out.

Ha. There are some weird undocumented features; it's a matter of finding out what those are.

Either your app was showing the wrong % to begin with (cached values), or "something" triggered a precondition that lasted for hours.

I had the cleaning lady plug in my EQS over the summer (had left it for 2 months), little did I know if the charger is not communicating with the vehicle (was plugged into a smart socket with it's portable charger) then the car will go into an infinite "preparing to charge" state, using up electricity to pre-warm the battery. Aftere a few days I noticed it was dropping at the rate of 8-10% per day.

Not saying that's the case here, but if something did kick-in, for unknow reasons, the car did what it's supposed to and used up electricity :)

Understood. But it was in an empty house/garage for weeks, and stable. Then suddenly in one night drops over 20%. Then stable again for a week. Then a 1% drop one night. Something kicked in, then stopped.

This happened to me out in the open in a parking lot. Full view of the sky, so not a GPS thing. Stopped the car, turned it off and back on without opening the doors and the messages persisted. Stopped the car again, turned it off, opened the door, took key outside, got back in, car started, no messages. I suspect a CAN bus initialization fault that needed a hard restart to clear.

It is probably a variety of reasons, GPS sigal loss is one that is documented in a TSB.
I also had LCA unavailable once and that can be due to mirrors forgetting their position and the quick fix is to close and open them. This is also documented in a TSB.
CAN bus issues are also likely.
Same as you, just restart did not fix it. But locking/unlocking the car did.
