Even if it has changed, the idea that the aren’t capable of maintaining software on two different revisions of hardware is kind of unbelievable, when they (and everyone else) are already capable of maintaining many models, with many hardware configurations and features.

Usually when sales advisors talk about this they’re referring to MY26 specific features not being back ported to earlier models, and that’s a fair bet. But that’s not remotely the same as “abandoning”. Then again if you’re in it hoping for a constant pipeline of new features, maybe that feels like abandonment.

I think my car is wonderful and I’m not really spending much time thinking about and hoping for new features, but I would like to see at least an occasional bug fix and security maintenance update.

I was hoping to at least get the filtering of the charging station providers and the display of the maximum charging capability the My26 has.
I am not even expecting new camera features, digital key and the updated inno drive.
I would not rule it out that we still receive security fixes but I am not expecting any update that changes anything visually.

Electric Macan EV 2026 Software Update via Dealer - What does it do exactly? 25v26

Can anyone who's had the update confirm if the surround view UI has been updated to match '26 (rounded corners, larger camera view/one less column of icons, transparent banners and icons overlayed, etc)? At least one on this forum has said it did, but I've only ever seen '24/'25 car with the 2025 image above...

The SoH would be great.

Have to say I'm really curious how is the SoH after one year, 30k kms and frequent fast charging (like 2-4 a week).

My source is people I spoke to that spoke to their sales advisors. They are saying the MY2026 Software will not be coming to the 2025 models as Porsche changed the underlying hardware.
They can of course be wrong, then we all get positively surprised. I am rather a pessimist here not to be too disappointed.
No offense intended to any Porsche sales advisors on this thread or in this forum, however sales advisors are likely not the best source to discuss expected software updates for the PPE platform.

As I said in another thread,my built date 18/09 4S (MY'25 apparently...) has the camera "2026" labeled here.Couple of friends of mine with similar built dates has also the same in their cars. It's certain that all late MY'25 Macans came out from the factory with the latest software already installed which most likely is the same with the one MY'26 cars (until now at least) are now be equipped.

Awesome - thanks for clarifying! So does seem like there is some truth to the update blurb regarding software/UI/visual improvements...

Time will tell if I am right or wrong. The fact that we had only a single update in almost 1.5 years and not even OTA says a lot how Porsche deals with Software.
Porsche also showed with the Taycan how they abandon previous model years.

But this WSJ0 Update is definitely the ongoing „bigger“ update from last year. In Europe this has been rolling out for months, why would US customers get an update before Porsches Homeland?

Agreed. I do not want new features, just stability and bug fixes. Cars need to be stable and just work. Adding new features, simply introduce more unforeseen bugs and given how slow the update process is for Porsche, not what I want to deal with years down the road. If they had regular OTA updates, I wouldn't mind small QoL improvements, but they don't have this.

Porsche GB wrote to me in November to book in for WSJ0 update. Then the dealer cancelled the install saying they were adding more to the update, called me to rebook last week for first available appointment 18th Feb. Interested to see if it stops the radar errors. Not sure if opening the charge port flaps with the app is really necessary though. However they still want the car for 48 hours.

I had this service scheduled two weeks ago, and completed last week. Just got the email about it from Porsche yesterday. I looked at the work order to confirm they are one and the same.

I can tell you that nothing wild has changed in the UI, the car did sprout a saline dish, nor gain 300HP. That said, I have not poked around the interface to see if there are any more subtle changes. Perhaps Plug and Charge is more reliable? Better route planning? More accurate range estimates? Only time will tell.

I also got the email yesterday, but based on conversations on WSJ0 threads here, I may hold off for a while, as it seems some can no longer level 2 charge at home after the update.

I thought the 28.13 update was suspended due to some cars experiencing issues. Is this email campaign to install a patch version or did they figure out how to handle the 28.13 issues?

Well to be fair, the news is that Porsche calls this „the update that brings the look and feel of 2026 models“. Which is simply not true.
