“Twitchy”? The Macan? I’ve never owned a more planted and predictable car. It’s very enjoyable in what passes for twisty roads here in BC. More tellingly perhaps it’s extremely honest on snow. I’m sure the GTS is better, but let’s not get carried away with thinking the rest of the range isn’t top tier.

Ditto that. We have an incredible curvy, country 23 mile road literally starting a block from our house. Very little traffic most of the time. Driving our Macan EV turbo has been a true joy, especially more than hustling it through its sharp switchbacks, reverse curves, tightening radius corners, and similar.

Do you have RAS (rear steering) - I'm not sure if that is standard or an option for US Turbos?

We do. When this one’s lease is over, our replacement Porsche EV will also have RWS.

The above video answers the question many of us have asked, “is a GTS with 22” wheels too stiffly sprung?” According to Kyle it is just right (starting at 49:00 into the video he discussed its ride in detail).

My Macan 4 never felt twitchy or wobbly but I suppose a relative comparison might lead one to express it that way if the GTS experience is significantly different in stability and handling in certain scenarios. I take that as a compliment for the GTS rather than a criticism of the other trims. With that, as it’s all relative anyway, as long as they don’t say it’s significantly rougher on bad roads or I don’t see the reviewers camera bouncing around in the video I will be happy.

From what I've read, the reviewers say the ride remains controlled, not choppy/crushy, which is great news. I'm getting a test drive in one next week - I already drove Macan 4 for 24h loan.

I didnt spec RWS and starting to regret it! Also missed the HUD but where do I draw the line on options! Its already +£100k 🫣

There are literally no bad choices - underneath the "dynamic" options it's a basically well-sorted car. RWS isn't transformational. With regards to the HUD - I've got it, but it's only on when I'm navigating a new town or know that I'm going through a tonne of complex interchanges. Wouldn't spec it again, or at least it would be a marginal option ready to be chopped if the budget got tight.

Good to hear, in reality 99.9% of my journeys will be to places i drive to regularly & felt the hub was pricey for a nice to have. Some options should be standard IMO (ACC, rear airbags, 2D surround camera) but i guess its the broken record of complaining about Porsche options.
RWS is the one that keeps coming up, wouldnt bother me in terms of parking but hopefully its still an outstanding drive (for an SUV) without it

HUD is really good, very happy I specced it, I regret not speccing the drive assist and only opting for the ACC. but as you said where do you stop, and I have the CFO (wife) that also has to sign off....

Yeh Ive already done the middle life crisis money maths when getting sign off from the Mrs
