Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a few reports recently regarding issues with home charging following the latest software updates. To get a better sense of how widespread this is and to help identify patterns for the community, I wanted to start a dedicated thread to track these instances.

If you are experiencing issues charging your Macan EV at home, could you please share the following details?

• Year and Model: (e.g., 2024 Macan 4, 2025 Macan Turbo, etc.)
• Your Location: (e.g., Toronto, Canada)
• Charger at Home: (e.g., Porsche Mobile Charger, Grizzl-E, Tesla Wall Connector)
• Charging Port: (e.g., Passenger Side/Driver Side AC port, BOTH)
• Timeline: When did your home charging stop working? Was it immediately after a specific update?
• Troubleshooting Steps Taken: What have you tried so far to fix it yourself (e.g., PCM factory reset, breaker power cycle, different cables)? Also, please mention what the dealer has done or suggested so far.
• Current Status: Has the issue been fixed? If so, what was the final solution? (e.g., dealer visit, OTA patch, charger reset, hardware replacement)

Year and Model: 2025 Macan 4

Your Location: Toronto, Canada

Charger at Home: Porsche Mobile Charger( multiple), Autel charger

Charging Port: tried both ac ports

Troubleshooting Steps Taken: tried different chargers, different houses, had electrician come to the house to check electrical, Porsche came with Macan turbo ev and was able to charge using my charge at my house.

Current Status: waiting for Porsche to follow up with next steps.

• Charger at Home: Span Drive
• Charging Port: Drive Side
• Timeline: Didn't actually stop working, but not it occasionally causes a fault with the Span Drive when the car hits the charge target since the 28.13 software update.
• Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Reset breaker, works until it happens again.
• Current Status: Not fixed or reported, as I think it's a combination of the car and the Span Drive.

Timeline: Haven't been able to charge the car at home after December 2025. Nothing works. Visiting the dealership on Jan 14th. I doubt they'll have a solution.

Hi,
I recently had the update but my issues with charging at home may be related.

• Year and Model: Macan
• Your Location: UK
• Charger at Home: Ohme Charger
• Charging Port: Only tried one side (driver)
• Timeline: Observed on first charge following upgrade
• Troubleshooting Steps Taken: New feature in app allows to toggle for direct charge, appears to allow charging to take place. Also constantly needing to delete planned departure. Utility company also appears to have option to now turn off economic charging. Option was previously switched off.
• Current Status: The car keeps attempting to default to economic charging and recreating planned departures so deferring the charging. Have managed to charge via the home charger keeping an eye and toggling direct charge on several occasions.

I hope that helps. Otherwise no other issues with update and my SoC % is updating unlike prior to update.

Have you tried using a different charger? Maybe try the Porsche mobile charger as well. If it does the same thing with a different charger, then it's probably the car and software update that caused it.

I would try to go to a neighbour or a friend who has an EVSE to see if your car would charge at their homes. Also, use a different charger if it's available, and try both sides charging ports. But I'm in the same boat. I haven't been able to charge since the update. They gave me the update before it was officially release back in October, because I have been having a lot of software glitches with error messages popping up randomly. Carplay not working intermittently, data pass not linked even though it was active. They thought this update would solve my problems, but instead it made it worse because I haven't been able to charge my car since then.

So your car still charges if you use direct charge? If you were to remove all your departure times, does it charge immediately? If your car still starts charging at home, then it seems to be a little different from our problem. My car currently has no departure times programmed, and have the SoC set to 100%, so that it would charge immediately, but it would never get past the initialization handshake, and then the charging light goes from white, to red.

Unfortunately it isn't an option to try using the PMC at my house because my charger is hard wired and there isn't a viable plug in the garage to use it with. Basically means I have to plan on resetting the breaker after each charging session so the Span Drive will reboot.

• Timeline: Following update installed Dec 4
• Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Place of employment provides unlimited 15A AC (3.2kWh) charging. When using passenger side charging socket, app reports 1.7kW charging with message in app advising of abnormal low charge rate. Using same cord in drivers side restores charging back to 3.2kW. Drivers side charge port is my 'new' preferred port due to this anomaly but on a few occasions when the passenger side has had to be used, I have seen the full 3.2kW a couple of times leading me to believe this is a vehicle based issue rather than the EVSE. No other users of these chargers report similar charge rates fluctuations, further pointing to the vehicle since the update. Home charging using both charging options yields charge rates as expected from both charge ports. Not sure if it's related but the powered charge port door drivers side now randomly opens when unlocking or opening car, also since update.
• Current Status: Waiting to see if any revisions to the supposed update actually improve things before booking it back in.

MY26 Macan Turbo owner here (so no software update applied).

I’m seeing a charging issue with Octopus Intelligent Go when charging via an Andersen A3.

If Octopus controls the car, charging stops after the first scheduled pause and the car then becomes unresponsive to any remote charging commands until the cable is unplugged.

As a workaround, having Octopus control the charger rather than the car allows charging to complete. While plugged in, the car still remains unresponsive to remote commands.

So your car still charges if you use direct charge? If you were to remove all your departure times, does it charge immediately? If your car still starts charging at home, then it seems to be a little different from our problem. My car currently has no departure times programmed, and have the SoC set to 100%, so that it would charge immediately, but it would never get past the initialization handshake, and then the charging light goes from white, to red.

My AC port work because I was able to charge it at the dealership. The charger is messed up.

Today I plugged in at a ski resort and was getting 1.6kw with the “low rate of charge” notice. Five minutes later it kicked up and started giving the full 6kw, and I’ve never had a problem at home, so I figured it was the resort’s hardware at fault.

What happens if you walk away for ten minutes and let it charge? Does it eventually go up to full speed?
