I was parked next to a base model Macan EV at an EA location this afternoon and noticed this detail at the rear tire wheel well. Is this some sort of mud flap? Aftermarket addition? Factory Option? Only used on the base model? My 2025 Macan 4 does not have this detail.

It's factory. Part of the wheel arches. It's not a bolt on. But those arches only come on the car if you get 22's afaik.
You can buy the arches from porsche as i did.

Salesguy told me those are for compliance with US laws - the tires are not allowed to extend past the body, so for larger tires they bolt those on so the "body" extends a bit further out.

Interesting. I only have the 20" so this now makes sense.

My 4S with 22’s has them. Noticed that others didn’t.

All making sense as the 21” and 22” have 295 mm width rear tires while the 20’s have 285’s.

21"+ wheels require the extensions for water spray containment and debris protection. - not region specific either - as the larger and broader rims sit around of the body.

Yeah that’s right, my Turbo with 22” has them in NZ too.

They're not extended arch but the plastic aero part) on my Macan T (20") which after 2 years I noticed today

My guess is it's there to help keep the marker light/reflector clear of mud/mess from the tire. You can see in the picture where the flap has kept the mess off the light.

Yes that's an extended arch with the additional aero piece both of which are on 21"+ wheels.
