I’d like to share my experience using a tunnel wash with comfort access, electric charge port doors and drink. An earlier thread discussed port doors opening and some said the frunk can let water in too. We had to figure out how to do this within the framework of using a moving tunnel wash.

We tried all different combinations in our driveway including being in and out of the car. Also tried roll mode but we could not lock the door from the outside. In the end what worked for us is the following:

Comfort access turned off via PCM
Car in neutral
Doors locked-sitting inside the car

Would love to hear from others if there is better way.

As a side note, our Ice Gray Macan EV is our daily driver and my wife likes the car washed a few times a month. The car wash uses neo-glide (wetsuit like) not bristle brushes which made it easier for me to agree. They can also retract the side brushes so they don’t put too much pressure on the car.

We use a touchless car wash where the car remains stationary. See:

I do something similar but leave the car in drive and on brake hold w/doors locked and I don't have to disable comfort access…I'm going to try "neutral".

I’ve taken mine through the car wash several times. I just put it in neutral as the carwash instructs, turn off wipers, and watch the suds and brushes do their thing. No problems. I don’t have power charging covers, but I do have the comfort access / hand swipe feature to open the frunk. But, that only works when my key is near the frunk. When I’m sitting in the driver’s seat, it doesn’t get triggered.

Thanks. I was not aware the key needed to be near the frunk. Silly me as it’s clearly stated in the manual!
