Opening the Power Charge Port Door

Just a quick observation, something that might reduce stress. Occasionally I have found that the powered charge port door won’t open when I place my hand on the rear of the door. Sometimes, it is because I forgot to unlock the car. That’s easy to observe and unlock, and not the issue here: sometimes the charge door won’t open even when the car is unlocked. I’ve found that by resting my hand on the rear passenger door handle briefly (don’t even need to open the passenger door) and then replacing my hand on the charge port door, it opens properly. Of course, one shouldn’t have to do this, but it is a simple, quick thing that seems to work for the occasional time I face this issue.

great tip. will try that. I always open the port via the nav screen before I leave the car as well.

I was having a similar issue with the port door not opening. I mentioned it last time the car was at the dealer and since then it’s been opening fine. I’m not sure what/if they did anything to it, but it’s definitely working as it should now.

I've noticed that if I barely tap the door, 1/3 of the way in from the left edge, with just the tip of my index finger, it works. On one occasion I couldn't get a Chargepoint charger to release the handle when done charging, Had to call Chargepoint and they said lock the doors, step away and hit the lock button on remote five times which I did and it worked. There's also some discussion around this issue in the forums and in the manual. The YouTube tutorials are super helpful. This is my first Porsche and certainly my first EV. What a ride it's been!!

I have noticed this - charging ports opens as well as the front hood. You need to leave the key farther when washing the car. Especially if you use pressure washer because those touch sensors are so sensitive.
