Remote parking

I have MY26 (June 2026), and optioned Remote Park Assist including 3D Surround View, Comfort Access and Porsche Digital Key, so far, I have found it to be somewhat unreliable, especially the 'remote' part. Let me explain:

• Parallel parking, pretty good
• Parking exit mostly fails with "driver take over" or something like that
• Bay parking between cars, pretty good
• Marked bay parking (new for MY26?), bays are identified, but the car fails to complete the moves to actually park - more attempts needed, as I only tried it once
• Reverse from a parked spot close to a fence, fail; well I parked it there without hitting the fence, surely the car can reverse, but no "system limits" at play I think
• Trained parking, remote exit fail
• Straight remote reverse, fail

Anything remote is just useless, the system gets confused and aborts after starting, i.e. the car turns on, it might even move slightly, then abruptly aborts.

Reading the prompts and manual, a physical key is required nearby for remote parking actions to work; this in itself is a severe limitation given I wanted to 'rely' on only carrying the digital key (on my iPhone), but the car seems to get get confused by the physical key and digital - I'm standing right at the drivers door, car locked/off, with both physical key and phone::

... connection is generally successful, however, starting a manoeuvre is not...

and eventually:

Any suggestions on how to get this to work, most likely this is user error ? Any one have success?

I don’t believe I have this on my MY26 Turbo, unless you only get it with “Remote Park Assist including 3D Surround View, Comfort Access and Porsche Digital Key” which I didn’t option

Yes, I have “Remote Park Assist including 3D Surround View, Comfort Access and Porsche Digital Key” - a UK £2625 option.

I went and checked the Porsche website, it seems that PX9 option is now UK £1778 instead of £2625, and Drive Assist GJ7 is now £884 instead of £1419 back in March this year. Oh, Spider wheels are £2780 instead of £3655, and rear side airbags are now standard! The UK Macan 4S MY27 base price is increased by £1200, but the cost of a few options is reduced.

I don't see any other material changes for MY 2027.

There’s several changes to mandatory equipment therefore DriveAssist for example offers less additional value.

That said my build in MY27 is cheaper than both MY26 and MY25.

I’ve not used most of the parking features but those that I have mostly worked more than they failed. My biggest issue is I park next to a wall at home some the bay park assist and the remote park assist don’t like the proximity

I also ended up getting the remote 3-D parking assist because they took the middle option away. I don’t think I’ll ever really use it because I don’t trust standing outside my car and letting it move without anybody in it but that’s just me. That being said I can to see if this works for me in some safe remote space sometime next week when I get it back from PPF.

If it was reliable, it would be helpful, but the system limits (proximity of walls/fences 'too close') render it pretty limited.

Couldn’t agree more.

Reversing assistant I’ve used with some success.

However I’d buy the option alone for the wheel/kerb cameras. Worth it’s weight in gold.

Yes, not just the side mounted camera’s but specifically watching the front and rear wheels

I think you've exhausted the options and not likely to be user error.

The system has limitations which are outlined in the manual but to be honest I wouldn't use it as it just wouldn't work in my use cases nor would I trust it if it did.

I don't have the remote option but do have the 3d with trained parking, but for me the trained parking never works just says not enough identifying points or something like that. So gave up on that....................
